    Before you start your application, please carefully read the submission guidelines and the entry form questions found on the Letchworth Open 2026 webpage. Remember you are only allowed to submit one artwork if you submit multiple artworks you will not be entitled to a refund and you we will only accept your first submission.

  • Your submission

    Please ensure the information you provide is accurate, as it will be used to generate our labels. If you are submitting a video or audio work, please upload a thumbnail or film still to the portal. You may deliver your AV work either via USB during the delivery window or by uploading it to a Dropbox folder. Unfortunately, we cannot accept WeTransfer files.

  • The maximum size limit for 2D work is 4800cm² (this equates to 80 x 60 cm). Oversized submissions will not be accepted.

  • Sales and Commission Details

    1. As a VAT-registered business, we are required to deduct 20% VAT from the sale price you provide, in accordance with UK VAT law.
    2. The Gallery will then apply a 30% commission to the net sale price (i.e. the price after VAT has been deducted).
    3. The Gallery manages the entire sales process. This includes collecting payment from the buyer, liaising with them, arranging delivery or collection, and processing your payment. The commission reflects these services.
    4. If your artwork sells, you will be notified by the following Tuesday.
    5. Due to GDPR regulations, the Gallery cannot share the buyer’s personal details without their explicit consent.

    A Note on VAT
    While tax obligations are not always welcome, VAT contributes to essential public services such as healthcare and education. We appreciate that this may impact the final sale price; however, as an organisation, we are required to charge and pay VAT regardless of whether individual artists are VAT-registered.

  • Printed Editions

    The Gallery is equipped to sell loose prints displayed in a browser by the Gallery Shop. These prints will be sold under the same conditions as the works in the show; however, they may be taken directly by the buyer and must remain unframed. All prints should be packaged in a clear protective sleeve with a rigid backing.

  • Entry Fee

    The entry fee is £12.00, but to ensure that price is not a barrier; you can choose to volunteer in exchange for the entry fee. Shifts are 3.5 hours (Wednesday - Saturday, 10am-1.30pm or 1.30pm-5pm) and are allocated on a first-come, first serve basis. The Letchworth Open is free for under 24s and existing Gallery volunteers.

    • Letchworth Open Bursaries

      We’re updating the selection process for the Letchworth Open Bursaries this year. To be considered, tick the box below. We will then contact you to submit a short proposal outlining your plans for the bursary and exhibition, along with your CV and a PDF portfolio of your work. Please prepare these materials in advance, as they will be requested when submissions close.

      I confirm I have read the Submission Guidelines and Terms & Conditions displayed on the Broadway Gallery's website. I understand that all works submitted must be available for the entire exhibition period. Images of my work may be used for press and marketing purposes, and visitors to the exhibition have my permission to include my work in their photographs. I agree to collect my artwork between the dates outlined in the submission guidelines, and understand that failure to collect the work will result in a charge of £10.00 per week or per part week, which shall be payable by the person collecting the artwork.
