I understand that if selected I will be expected to participate in 1-2 day exam program retreat the days before the HAPS annual meeting (location at the hotel for the HAPS annual meeting), (HAPS will reimburse you for your 1-2 day hotel costs). Monthly meetings (video conference) with the HAPS Steering Committee. Potential monthly online/videoconference meetings with the panel of experts to review psychometric data for seeded questions, review and edit tested questions, develop new questions. Ad hoc meetings with your other HAPS Exam Program Leads and the HAPS Board of Directors liaisons to discuss HAPS Exam information FAQs, website updates, workflows for exams, etc.

DEMONSTRATED EXPERTISE IN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY CONTENT. This may include: (1) Experience authoring an undergraduate A&P anatomy, or physiology textbook, lab guide, electronic multimedia educational software or hardware, question banks, study guides, etc. (2) Presentations or publications demonstrating physiology content knowledge . (3) Awards based on excellence in teaching of A&P, anatomy, or physiology. (4) Extensive experience teaching A&P, anatomy, or physiology plus must have taught these courses over multiple years. (5) extensive knowledge of Bloom’s taxonomy and experience writing questions at higher Bloom’s levels.

DEMONSTRATED UNDERSTANDING OF THE LEVEL AND DEPTH OF MOST INTRODUCTORY ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY CLASSES. This may be demonstrated by: (1) Experience authoring an A&P, anatomy, or physiology textbook, lab guide, electronic multimedia education software or hardware, question banks, study guides, etc. (2) Teaching experience at multiple levels (e.g., high school, undergraduate, professional, medical, dental) and/or different populations of students (3) Teaching a large population of diverse students at one or more institutions.

DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO AND PARTICIPATION IN HAPS. This may include: (1) Presentations or workshops at regional and annual HAPS meetings. (2) Active and noteworthy participation on one or more HAPS committees or leadership positions. (3) Publication(s) in the HAPS Educator.

DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO AND PARTICIPATION IN THE HAPS EXAM PROGRAM. (1) Participation in past HAPS Exam Panel of Experts (or Exam task force), (2) Participation in writing HAPS Learning Outcomes. (3) HAPS Exam user.

*HAPS will pay for 1-2 nights hotel room for you at the Annual Conference (depending upon the length of the retread), and will pay for breakfast and lunch for you on those days. Transportation to and from the meeting will not be reimbursed by HAPS, as this meeting coincides with the HAPS annual meeting.
