Below is a detailed guide outlining our household manager placement process and what you can expect.

A household manager typically oversees the smooth running of a household by handling a range of responsibilities, including:
- Staff management (hiring, training, and supervising household staff such as cleaners, chefs, nannies, etc.).
- Scheduling (organizing family appointments, managing household calendars, and booking necessary services).
- Event planning and coordination (handling logistics for social events, parties, and family gatherings).
- Budgeting and accounting (overseeing household expenses, managing household budgets, and paying bills).
- Property maintenance (ensuring that the property is maintained, scheduling repairs, and liaising with service providers).
- Grocery shopping and supply management (managing inventory for household items and coordinating restocks).

2. Retainer and Fee Structure: A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is collected at the time of consultation scheduling. This deposit is credited toward the total placement fee and ensures that we begin the search promptly.
The placement fee is 8% of the annual salary for the household manager. This fee covers:
- Candidate sourcing.
- Interviews and vetting.
- Reference checks.
- Employment contract facilitation.
- Backup care placement fee for the first 6 months of employment
Once a candidate is selected and a job offer is ready to be sent to the candidate, the remainder of the placement fee will be invoiced.
3. Candidate Search: Once we have a clear understanding of your household's needs, we:
- Source and screen qualified candidates.
- Conduct interviews to assess their skills, experience, and compatibility with your family.
- Verify their professional references and conduct extensive background checks.
4. Candidate Presentation: After thoroughly vetting candidates, we present the most suitable options to the family. You will receive detailed profiles of each candidate, including their experience, qualifications, and professional references.
We then facilitate the interviews directly between you and the candidate or candidates that you would like to meet with
5. Employment Contract: Once a suitable household manager is selected, Motor City Sitters helps facilitate the creation and signing of an employment contract. Motor City Sitters requies families use the contract template provided by the agency. This contract outlines:
- Job duties and responsibilities.
- Working hours and schedule.
- Compensation and benefits (including vacation, sick days, bonuses, etc.).
- Non-disclosure agreements (if necessary).
6. Ongoing Support: Motor City Sitters provides ongoing support during the onboarding process and remains available for any questions or adjustments that may arise in the early stages of the placement.

- Within 30 days: 100% refund
If the family terminates the nanny within 90 days of the start date with a signed contract, the Agency will provide a replacement search at an additional cost according to the following schedule:
- Within 90 days: 100% of placement fee
- Within 60 days: 75% of placement fee
- Within 30 days: 50% of placement fee
- Within 14 days: 0% of placement fee
