The rapid evolution of advanced technologies such as High-Performance Computing (HPC), HPC-AI, Data Science, Machine and Deep Learning, Large Language Models, Digital Twin, and Quantum Computing is reshaping industries and research landscapes worldwide. To ensure India’s leadership in these transformative domains, it is imperative to revamp academic curricula, integrate advanced courses, and emphasize practical exposure across AICTE-approved institutions.
In this context, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Department of Science and Technology (DST) All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) are uniquely positioned to play a catalytic role by offering advanced laboratory setups on PARAM Shavak 2.0 based HPC and DL/ML labs, built upon indigenous technologies such as the Rudra Server, BOSS Operating System, and advanced tools like the HPC GUI, HPC Tutor, CHReME, ONAMA, and AI Support System integrated with the operating system for enhanced user support, represent a significant leap in capability. These state-of-the-art labs will enable students and researchers to gain direct, hands-on training in real-world problem-solving, advanced simulations, and AI-driven applications that are central to the future of science, engineering, and industry.
Beyond strengthening academic learning, this initiative will create a collaborative innovation ecosystem where Academia, Startups, and Industry converge. With MeitY, DST, AICTE, and C-DAC providing the technological foundation, students will engage in frontier research, startups will leverage HPC for rapid prototyping, and industries will validate solutions in partnership with academia. Such synergy will not only accelerate innovation but also ensure that India builds a skilled, future-ready workforce aligned with the nation’s strategic priorities.
Ultimately, the establishment of accessible HPC infrastructure and indigenous technology-driven labs will elevate India’s academic ecosystem, directly contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and advancing the goal of a self-reliant India in high-end computing and AI.
