Volunteer Role:
Stop 1- Uproot the Problem – Community Weedpull @ Revelstoke Greenbelt
We’ll kick things off at Kovach Park, where we’ll work together to remove invasive plants like burdock, blueweed, and Himalayan balsam along the Greenbelt trail. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm! We’ll provide gloves, tools, and ID tips to help you take meaningful action for local ecosystems.
Stop 2: Rainforest Bioblitz & Tree Measuring @ Mt. Macpherson Nordic Lodge
Next, we’ll shift into citizen science mode with a guided walk through the lush inland rainforest. Volunteers will take photos of plants and wildlife for iNaturalist, and help record tree diameter measurements as we explore off-trail forest sections. Don’t worry—we’ll teach you how to use the app and tools!
Perfect for: nature lovers, citizen scientists, and anyone passionate about protecting local ecosystems.
