    Discover a more meaningful way to travel and connect with the Revelstoke community by playing a hands-on role in helping our local non-profits maintain our amazing destination. As a thank you for your help, we'll reimburse up to $400 of your accommodation expenses.

    Come for the mountains, stay for the mission. Help us sustain this stoke!

     

    *Please note, each volunteer must complete this form separately. Information shared in this form will be shared with the non-profit you select to volunteer with.

  • Terms & Conditions:

    • Accommodation reservations must take place on the same dates as the project you are registered for, and for a minimum of two nights (but can extend longer).
    • Longer reservations will still only be eligible up to a maximum of $400 CAD.
    • Accommodations should be booked directly with accommodators and not through a third party platform such as expedia or booking.com.
    • Double occupancy reservations are only eligible for one reimbursement.
    • Because this is an incentive to encourage travel to Revelstoke, the reimbursement is not available to people with a Revelstoke permanent address.
    • Participants must attend their full volunteer shifts and complete the post-visit survey to be eligible for reimbursement (this will require you to submit a receipt from your hotel stay).
    • Reimbursements may take up to 4 weeks after the event to process.
    • Must be eligible to legally work in Canada and have a Canadian bank account. 
    • A researcher from the University of Utah may be onsite during your project to conduct volunteer interviews. Interview participation is entirely optional; however all feedback shared in the mandatory post survey will be aggregated and shared with the study (names and contact details will not be included).
    • By attending, you grant permission for photos or video taken during the event to be used for future marketing and promotional purposes by event organizers.

  • Feed the People

    Nonprofit: Community Connections (Neighbourhood Kitchen)

    Meals for Food Bank Clients. Join the Neighbourhood Kitchen and their Red Seal chef to use food recovery items, diverting them from the compost to create healthy meals to be given out in the Food Bank to the communities most vulnerable.

    We will be making multiple things during the day and working in teams to be most productive. Everything will be made and packaged for the food bank then clean up the kitchen.

  • LUNA Fest

    Nonprofit: Arts Revelstoke

    An unforgettable experience of art and community, LUNA Fest is a three-day festival presenting a lineup of musical talent, mesmerizing installation art, interactive performances, and family-friendly fun. LUNA Arts is a celebration that transforms the downtown Revelstoke core. The entire town comes out to play as the sun goes down.

  • Frisby Firewood Party

    Nonprofit: Revelstoke Snowmobile Club

    Join us for our annual firewood party up on Frisby and help us buck up wood and stash logs in the cabin! You'll be treated to stunning views of Revelstoke and the surrounding area, all while contributing to a great cause. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and make a real difference. Come for the work, stay for the views, and leave with a sense of accomplishment!

    Volunteer Role:

    This volunteer role includes the opportunity to experience a guided ATV adventure to reach your volunteer destination, where you will stay for the majority of the day to buck and stack wood for the coming winter. It's a day out in a remote backcountry cabin, so come prepared for a mix of weather and physical activity.

    • Bucking wood (for people comfortable using an axe or chainsaw)
    • Stacking wood (moving up & down stairs into cabin)

  • Lawn & Order: Senior Support Division

    Nonprofit: Community Connections (Better at Home Program)

    Enjoy being outside? Spending time in the garden? The smell of fresh-cut grass? In this role, you could have it all! This role is all about helping local Revelstoke seniors catch up on some yardwork, harvest from the garden, prepare their outdoor spaces for winter, or with minor outdoor maintenance.

    Volunteer Role:

    Intensity of labor will be dependent on the needs addressed by seniors seeking assistance. No heavy-duty tasks- just minor maintenance, lawncare, and repairs. A van will be available to take volutneers to and from the volunteer sites, however you're also welcome to drive yourself if you prefer

  • Railway Day

    Nonprofit: Revelstoke Railway Museum

    Join us for a a family-friendly public gathering designed to bring our community together in celebration, connection, and collaboration. It will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including games, crafts, and music.

  • Food Commons Seasonal Shutdown

    Nonprofit: Revelstoke Local Food Initiative

    We're looking for volunteers to join us at the Food Commons for a hands-on day of care and connection. Together, we’ll take on seasonal maintenance tasks like pulling weeds, prepping growing spaces, and helping ready the site for winter and spring planning.

    Your time and energy make a difference to support community food systems. Come meet good people and care for a space rooted in learning, sharing, and nourishment.

  • Trail Maintenance Dig Day

    Nonprofit: Revelstoke Cycling Association

    Join our Dig Day and spend time working on a section of trail, then go for a ride afterwards and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Volunteers will work with an experienced trail builder on a small maintenance project to either repair or reroute a section of trail. They will learn how to maintain trails and what goes into creating a sustainable trail network.

    Volunteer Role:

    Volunteers will help move dirt and rocks using trail maintenance tools provided.

    Perfect for: trail users, mountain bikers, and outdoor enthusiasts who want to give back to the trails they love while learning hands-on skills in sustainable trail maintenance.

  • Weedpull, Bioblitz & Measure

    Nonprofit: Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society and Wildsight Revelstoke.

    Join CSISS & Wildsight Revelstoke for a day of hands-on stewardship! Start at Kovach Park to remove invasive plants, then head to Mt. Macpherson Nordic Lodge for a guided Bioblitz and tree measuring session in the Inland Temperate Rainforest. Tools and training provided.

    *Please Note* - This activity is an environmental education and stewardship event where two organizations are partnering up- Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society and Wildsight Revelstoke and activities will be held in two different locations. Volunteers will need to arrange their own transport between locations.

    Stop 1- Uproot the Problem – Community Weedpull @ Revelstoke Greenbelt

    We’ll kick things off at Kovach Park, where we’ll work together to remove invasive plants like burdock, blueweed, and Himalayan balsam along the Greenbelt trail. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm! We’ll provide gloves, tools, and ID tips to help you take meaningful action for local ecosystems.


    Stop 2: Rainforest Bioblitz & Tree Measuring @ Mt. Macpherson Nordic Lodge

    Next, we’ll shift into citizen science mode with a guided walk through the lush inland rainforest. Volunteers will take photos of plants and wildlife for iNaturalist, and help record tree diameter measurements as we explore off-trail forest sections. Don’t worry—we’ll teach you how to use the app and tools!

    Perfect for: nature lovers, citizen scientists, and anyone passionate about protecting local ecosystems.

  • Dig in for the Arts

    Nonprofit: Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre

    Calling all garden lovers and creative souls! Help us breathe new life into the public garden space outside Revelstoke’s only non-profit art gallery. We’ll be pulling weeds, planting seedlings, and making the space extra welcoming. Whether you're a green thumb or just want to give back to the arts, we need YOU to help make this spot bloom! Dig in, learn about Revelstoke’s art scene, and help make this community hub even more vibrant!

    This program is run by a lovely retired volunteer! We're happy to adjust the jobs to your physical ability and energy levels. There will be frequent breaks, shaded tables for lunch, and a pop up gazebo if the whether is a little too intense. Stroll through the gallery for an airconditioned break!

    Perfect for: gardeners, art lovers, and community-minded folks who want to get their hands dirty while supporting local culture and making public spaces more beautiful and inviting.

  • Inventory, Clean, Sort n' Huck

    Nonprofit: Revelstoke Seniors Centre

    Join us for a hands-on volunteer day helping the Revelstoke Seniors Association inventory, sort, clean, and clear out the kitchen, pantry, games, and other equipment. It’s a great chance to help out a cornerstone community organization, work as a team, and bring a little sparkle back to the space. Who knew sorting could be this satisfying?

  • The Great Garden Wrap-Up

    Nonprofit: Revelstoke Local Food Initiative

    As the growing season winds down, we're inviting volunteers to join us in preparing the community garden spaces for the winter. Connect with the land, meet others, and support a shared space that feeds and nourishes our community. All are welcome—no experience necessary!

  • Tackle School Hunger

    Nonprofit: Community Connections (Neighbourhood Kitchen)

    The Neighbourhood Kitchen delivers free lunches to every elementary school in Revelstoke. Help us prep and freeze items to be used for these lunches.

  • Forestry Museum Grounds Tidy

    Nonprofit: BC Interior Forestry Museum & Forest Discovery Centre

    Tackle the Leaves. Tidy the Trees. Prep the Property. Join us for a hands-on volunteer day as we prepare the Forestry Museum grounds and The Riverside Forest Walk for winter!

    Volunteer Role:

    We'll be raking, pruning, clearing trails, and sprucing up the site before the snow flies.

    The day is moderately to physically labor intensive overall, but we are able to delegate tasks based on volunteer comfort and ability. Activities range from light gardening to more demanding brush clearing and moving equipment.

    Perfect for: outdoor enthusiasts, history buffs, and anyone who enjoys physical activity.

  • To help everything run smoothly, we’re asking all volunteers to confirm their commitment by uploading a screenshot of their hotel reservation or confirmation. In the past, we've had a few challenges with last-minute no-shows, and this small step helps ensure that all our community projects can go ahead as planned.

  • If you need more time to finalize your travel plans, that’s okay! Submit this form now, and once you have your hotel confirmation, use the ‘Edit Submission’ link in your confirmation email to upload it.


    We’ll hold your volunteer spot for 72 hours. If we don’t receive your hotel confirmation within that time, we’ll assume you’re no longer able to attend and will offer your spot to someone else. 

    A few things to keep in mind:

    • Please book your accommodation directly with your accommodator and avoid using sites such as expedia or booking.com. Booking directly helps support local businesses by eliminating large fees associated with online booking platforms which can sometimes be up to 30%.
    • Hotel dates must be for the same duration as your volunteer event and a minimum of 2 nights.
    • If you are traveling with another volunteer and planning to share a room, only one reimbursement will be provided.
