We are excited to do a Tonic Adventures Local Weekend targetted for the grass market but anticipate beach players that would love a social volleyball weekend.
All the FUN details are described but also this section has the terms and conditions that I must write for travel. They are important but less fun to talk about but important - haha!
FIRST THE FUN: The Weekend Schedule:
Imagine the following wewiekend:
FRIDAY
Arrive Friday 3pm - 6:30pm for checkin to your cabin or lodge and we will be hosting lawn games (toss tic tac toe, croquet, spike ball, giant dice games, connect4, drink pong, ring toss, cornhole, ...), chilling to music and having drinks in a central area just by the main lodges. And you will get your goodie bags. We know some of you work later and will arrive later but if possible to come at this time we cannot push dinner past 7:00 start.
A pizza & salad bar dinner will be served at 7:00 at the same location as the lawn games! And then we will go down to the water for a big bonfire, tunes and sociables until 11pm! The party can then continue in your individual cabins or lodges or you might choose to rest up for the tournament day!
SATURDAY
6:30/7:00am: For BRAVE SOULS there is a polar bear swim to wake you up - this is a YMCA camp and so swimming only allowed with staff supervision due to our and their insurance!
6:30-8:30am: Breakfast is available in the main dining hall
9:00am - 5:30pm: R4 Tournament Round Robin Day (plus teams will have half a day where they can do other activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, archery, chill with organized lawn games, ... - you choose 1 as part of registration and time off will be sorted by when your team plays for Saturday morning, afternoon or Sunday morning)
7:00pm: BBQ Night
9:00pm-1:30am: DJ Dance Party
SUNDAY
6:30/7:00: For BRAVE SOULS that aren't hungover or those needing to wake up from their hangover there is a polar bear swim option again.
6:30-8:30: Breakfast is available in the main dining hall
9:00 - 4:00: R4 Tournament PLAYOFF DAY (plus some teams will have a few hours where they can do other activities in morning such as kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, archery, chill with organized lawn games, ... - you choose 1 as part of registration and time off will be sorted by levels for Saturday morning, afternoon or Sunday morning)
4:00-5:00: PRIZING
5:00-6:00: We are doing a packed dinner since people may be rushing for ferry.
MONDAY
Optional that you can stay an extra night and leave Monday morning if you prefer - for an extra cost - price is based on which accomodation you are in - they will maintain the price but merge people if in the big lodge.
----------------------------------
PACKAGE PRICES:
Price is dependent on accomodation option chosen and the number of people in the lodge bedrooms or which type of cabin. The other costs are fixed by number since food, activities and other aspects do not change as they are a fixed cost to us.
LODGE: with 2 people in your bunk room - $449/person for ALL
LODGE: with 3 people in your bunk room - $429/person for ALL
LODGE: with 4 people in your bunk room - $409/person for ALL
HEMLOCK CABIN: $379/person (4 minimum and 12 maximum per cabin and doesn't change based on number in each cabin)
FOREST CABIN: $359/person (4 minimum and 12 maximum per cabin and doesn't change based on number in each cabin)
LOCALS: $259/person (no accomodations but all other costs do not change)
NONPLAYERS (GUESTS) - subtract $25 from the package chosen if you are accompanying a player and not playing - all rest included
TONIC MEMBERS - subtract $35 from the package chosen
_____________________________
PACKAGE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
- 2 nights in cabin or lodge accomodation (there are 3 types of accomodation with different number of people per room that influences price listed in next section)
- ALL MEALS (see tentative menu below with ability to request dietary restrictions)
- 3 dinners
- 2 breakfasts
- 2 lunches
- 2 snacks
- CHOOSE 1 ACTIVITY FOR FREE TIME (you will be scheduled around your volleyball schedule and so you and your team will be at same time and you won't necessarily get this free time at the same time as other divisions)
- kayaking
- paddleboarding
- canoeing
- archery
- rock wall
- organized lawn games
- DJ DANCE PARTY on Saturday night after dinner - there will be a bar with a variety of drinks for $5 - we have to legally have a bartender for this type of event for licensing. Thus we are just doing cost recovery for drinks - not profit.
- BONFIRE/SMORES/MUSIC on Friday night after dinner
- GOODIE BAGS & PRIZING
- R4's tournament spread over 2 days
NOT INCLUDED
- Ferry to get to Gibson (RESERVE ASAP)
- Booze (you can bring coolers for your cabins and onsite since I had to buy exclusivity of the site for our group). The only time you can't bring your own booze is for the DJ Dance party and that is a licensing aspect. If it ends up possible then I will let you know but things will be sold for $5 or so - based more on an "at cost" aspect with tickets.

ACCOMODATION OPTIONS
There are 3 types of lodges or cabins that you can select. Think going to camp in lodges or rustic cabins but with matresses, shelter, showers and bathrooms.
LODGES
- There are 5 lodges - one which I have claimed for my crew - but there will be room for others
- Lodges have a central social area with fireplace, small kitchen area with mini fridge and microwave (but no cooking), 8 bedrooms and 4 to 6 bathrooms inside the lodges with showers as well.
- The bedrooms are bunks with a matress but you bring your own pillow and bedding (you can rent it but best to bring) - it's a YMCA camp but there are matresses and lockers in each. EACH ROOM can have 2, 3, or 4 people in it for different price points
- The lodges are also more central to the volleyball, games field, dining areas, ...
- These are great options for groups of teams that was to socialize and party together in the same lodge after hours - when you register you can tell me what teams you would like for that lodge as long as you register early enough.
- PRICE
- 2 people in bedroom - $449/person for whole package
- 3 people in bedroom - $429/person for whole package
- 4 people in bedroom - $409/person for whole package
HEMLOCK CABIN
- There are 18 Hemlock Cabins which fit minimum 4 people and upto 12 - I have estimated that it is likely 1 cabin per team but you can decide that.
- The cabins are newer than the Forest Cabins below and more central to the activities.
- There are bunk beds with matresses and lockers (again you bring own pillow and bedding)
- These are great options for 1 or 2 teams but cost per person doesn't change after 4 people in EACH cabin
- There are NO BATHROOMS IN THE CABIN but there is a central shower and washroom building with 15-20 bathroom and shower stalls. These cabins are closer to these facilities than the Forest cabins
- PRICE - $379/person for whole package (price doesn't change based on number in cabin - just has to be minimum 4 people per cabin and max 12)
FOREST CABIN
- There are 8 which fFOREST Cabins - they are similar to Hemlock but more rustic, older and further away from the amenities
- Minimum 4 people and upto 12 per cabin - I have estimated that it is likely 1 cabin per team but you can decide if you want 2 teams.
- There are bunk beds with matresses and lockers (you bring your own pillow and bedding)
- These are great options that want the cheapest option
- There are NO BATHROOMS IN THE CABIN but there is a central shower and washroom building with 15-20 bathroom and shower stalls. These cabins are farther away to these facilities than the Hemlock cabins
- PRICE - $359/person for whole package (price doesn't change based on number in cabin - just has to be minimum 4 people per cabin and max 12)

The FERRY WILL NEED TO BE BOOKED ASAP as you REGISTER: Going to Gibson is quick and only 40 minutes but it is critical to reserve ASAP. The RED TIMES are recommended if possible
FRIDAY GOING TIMES for the ferry goes on Friday September 12th is 7:30 am, 9:50 am; 12:10pm; 2:25pm; 4:45pm; 5:30pm (reservations were sold out 2 months ago but could do walkon); 7:05 pm (you would miss dinner but can save some); 9:25 and 11:30pm is NOT recommended as you will miss the checkin and dinner but if needed we will try to accomodate but they will not price adjust.
SUNDAY RETURN TIMES: 5:55, 8:15 AND 10:30PM - if making the finals however I feel the ONLY 2 options are 8:15 and 10:30pm. Otherwise you forfeit if you make the finals. Or you could book an extra night stay and leave in morning.
~One form needs to be filled out per person NOT per team or group because some people may stay with one group but play with another and so this will be easier.

LOCALS NOT NEEDING ACCOMODATION
There are limited spots for those not taking the accomodation since our costs do not change very much - I have set aside 20 spots. The weekend would still include ALL aspects minus the accomodation for $349/person. You would still be included in all meals, tournament, DJ Dance party, coastal activities, ...

If you WANT TO REGISTER as a SINGLE
We will try and find you a team but can't guarantee your spot until we have a team organized. Normally for our volleyball vacations do not require people to form teams however with REVERSE 4's and the local community so connected and wanting to form their own teams mostly, this trip assumes you will form your own team.
For those needing help to form a team CONTACT CINDY AT 778-233-4422 THROUGH WHATSAPP OR TEXT ASAP and I will try to make introductions and help you form a team.
If you REGISTER it will guarantee your spot if we find you a team, however, if we are unable to find a team then you will be refunded MINUS the $12 processing fees that Stripe charges and that we don't get back due to refunds.
______________________
Based on the late REGISTRATION and the need to PROVIDE RELATIVELY FIRM NUMBERS TO THE PLACE BY MID AUGUST - EARLY BIRD PRICING WILL GO TO AUGUST 11th. After that we "might" be able to fit you in but it's more difficult and so the price goes up by $35/person.
______________________
CANCELLATION POLICY
- Up to August 11th your registration is fully refundable minus the credit card fees that Stripe charges for processing - 2.9% of total + .30 - so on a typical cost package that is approximately $12.
- AFTER August 12th - your registration is non-refundable. You can sell your spot to someone else but we have to provide a minimum guarantee one month out.
I recommend you buy travel insurance if you are worried about potentially having to cancel for any reason after AUGUST 12TH.
