Our Vision:
1. To disciple and mentor believers in being emptied of self and full of God.
2. To help them become more firmly grounded in the Scriptures.
3. To teach and inspire them to become effective workers in the kingdom of God.
4. To inspire them toward teamwork in missions and outreach.
5. To help them understand the kingdom principle of servant leadership.
6. To teach them to shepherd others.
7. Also to warn against many of the heresies which have crept into mainstream religion
Further Comments:
Many younger Christians of today seem to lack clear vision. So many are not well grounded in the Scriptures, and as a result are being swept into mainstream religion. In the Upward Way Discipleship School we would like to help them see a clearer vision of who God is, the "big picture" of the entire Bible story, and God's eternal purpose in Christ. We want to teach them the way of the cross and absolute surrender. In these days of internet and technology, there has been a rapid spread of human philosophy within the religious world. Most of these ideas are simply modifications of old heresies with a modern, refined presentation. Upward Way Discipleship School will be based on an Anabaptist world view, that is, radical obedience - based, Christ - centered discipleship.
The goal is to disciple and mentor the students in becoming laborers in the kingdom of God. God has given to each one a measure of grace and spiritual gifts. We want the students to learn how to unify and work together for the extension of the Kingdom. So many Christians of today only attend church on Sunday and watch a few professionals lead the service, and then go home and spend the greatest part of their energies on themselves. God wants everyone to be investing their measure of grace into the Kingdom.
