  • Help Monitor Courthouse Arrests in Fairfax County

    Volunteer Sign-up
  • lCE is ramping up courthouse arrests at the Fairfax County courts. The lead immigration attorney at  Virginia Defenders/Virginia Indigent Defense Commission has asked ACLU People Power Fairfax to help coordinate volunteers for this urgent need.

We need volunteers to sit in the courtrooms and/or in the hallways, etc. to observe and take notes about any ICE arrests. Ideally, this will include getting the name of the arrested individual to pass on to attorneys, and observing what if any cooperation is being given by courthouse staff. We do NOT want observers to engage with ICE. We have a courtroom monitor training video we ask you to watch before starting monitoring. After you submit this form, you will receive an email with the Signup Genius link which will provide logistics and an explanation of the process.

NOTE: Please add our email (aclupeoplepowerfairfax@protonmail.com) to your safe senders list and check your spam folder.
