    Morocco Sister City Trip
  • Welcome! On behalf of the El Jadida Sister City Committee are looking forward to you joining us on our trip to Morocco from April 4 - April 12, 2026.  Below are several sections which are specifically designed for your Morocco Trip. This ecrypted online form should be filled out completely and returned by submitting below as soon as possible. Since we are limited to 20 people on our trip, the first 20 deposits (of $250) received are guaranteed a space on the trip. If you are not ready to complete the travel application form and have some questions, please fill out our interest form and we will follow up with you.     The price for the tour is $2000 usd per person for double ocupancy. The remaining balance after deposit is $1750. Single supplement is additional $350.

    Travel Itinerary:

    April 4 Day 1: Tangier Arrival (tour depends on arrival time)
    On arrival at the Tangier Airport, meet your guide and transfer to your guesthouse. Relax with time on your own before a welcome dinner (El Toro Hotelor similar).

    April 5 Day 2: Tangier
    After breakfast, explore Tangier, the white city of Morocco, a cosmopolitan trading place founded by the Phoenicians 3,000 years ago. Attend an optional visit and 11:00am service at St. Andrews Anglican Church, consecrated in 1905 and committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. Stop for lunch and explore Tangier American Legation Museum, the only US National Historic Landmark located in a foreign country, now a vibrant center of activity in the medina housing a museum, research library, and cultural center. Visit the most intriguing sites of Tangier, including the Caves of Hercules and the ancient palace and lighthouse at Cape Spartel, located at the westernmost tip of Africa where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea facing the Strait of Gibraltar where on a clear day you might see across to Gibraltar. Finish the day at your guesthousein Tangier (El Toro Hotelor similar). (B)

    April 6 Day 3: The Blue City
    After breakfast, depart for the “blue city” of Chefchaouen, a sleepy village in the heart of the Rif Mountains founded in 1471 by Jews and Moors fleeing the Spanish Inquisition and noted as the 8th most beautiful place in the world. Pass through Fnideq and M’diq to Tetouan, located in a striking location at the foot of the Rif Mountains, just a few kilometers from the sea. Tetouan is a modern white city that has remained unchanged for centuries. The Spanish influence dates to the early 20 th century and its long relationship with Andalusia has left it with a Hispano Moorish architecture that is unique in Morocco. Visit the Tetouan Kasbah high up on a hill in the middle of the ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can see a breathtaking view of Tetouan and Feddan Park. Stop for lunch along the way and visit the Archeological Museum of Tetouan which houses prehistoric, ancient and Islamic archaeological objects from several sites and monuments in northern Morocco, including lithic tools, prehistoric human remains, architectural elements, ceramics, mosaics, coins, and bronze statuettes. Arrive in Chefchaouen and take a walking tour to explore the blue medina, best known for its local leather products and carpets. Stop for dinner in Plaza Uta el-Hammam and relax with a majestic view of the Rif Mountains and people watching. Continue to your guesthouse in Chefchaouen for the night (Maison D’Hôtes Afassi or similar). (B)

    April 7 Day 4: Chefchaouen – Rabat
    After breakfast, depart for Rabat, the current capital of Morocco and another important coastal imperial city. Stop for lunch along the way and explore the old town of Rabat, called Oudayas and Kasbah Oudaya, located adjacent to the Rabat medina at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river opposite Salé, a royal fort of the Berber era surrounded by formal Andalusian gardens overlooking the Certified, local experts defending nature’s right to remain wild Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Hassan Tower and the Mohamed V Mausoleum, a perfectly preserved example of the architectural style of the Alawite dynasty and explore the chellah or sacred necropolis before a tour of the exterior of the Parliament of Morocco. Continue to your guesthouse in Rabat for dinner and the night (Hôtel des Arts or similar). (B, D)

    April 8 Day 5: The Imperial City of Rabat
    After breakfast, explore the Bouknadel Exotic Gardens, created in the early 1950s by the French horticultural engineer, Marcel François, opened in 1961, and classified as a national cultural heritage site since 2003.The gardens are home to ponds, huts, suspension bridges, and more than 600 plant species from 5 continents, as well as 80 animal species. Covering 4.5 hectares the Gardens are organized thematically according to nature, culture, and educational gardens. Stop for lunch and visit the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, an African Modern Art museum part of the prestigious network of 14 museums under the National Foundation of Museums of Morocco. The Museum is the first large-scale museum erected in Morocco since its independence from France in 1956 and elegantly houses the works of over 200 Moroccan artists. Return to your guesthouse in Rabat before dinner at Dar Jai (Hôtel des Arts or similar). (B)

    April 9 Day 6: Casablanca (tour depends on timing for visit to IDMAJ)
    After breakfast, depart for Casablanca, a port city and a commercial center facing the Atlantic Ocean. The French colonial heritage of the city is reflected in the Moorish architecture of the city center, combining Moorish style and European art deco. Explore the most emblematic point of Casablanca: Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world including a minaret 690 feet high and is of the few mosques open to non-Muslims. Continue to your guesthouse in Casablanca before a visit to IDMAJ followed by dinner (Relax Hotel Voyageurs or similar). (B)

    April 10 Day 7: Casablanca – El Jadida (tour pending meeting with El Jadida officials) After breakfast depart for El Jadida, via Azzemour, home to a multitude of artists and renowned for its art mural, sculptures, and dazzling street paintings created by local artists and residents. Continue to El Jadida and discover the fortified Portuguese Moroccan port city with its picturesque coastline, now a major port city on the Atlantic coast. Built by the Portuguese at the beginning of the 16th century and originally named Mazagan, it was taken by Morocco in 1769. The old city sea walls are one of the 7 Wonders of Portuguese origin in the world. El Jadida is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as an “outstanding example of the interchange of influences between European and Moroccan cultures”. Stop for lunch along the way and visit the Mazagan Fortress, with its massive walls and bastions. Meet with El Jadida city officials and continue to your guesthouse in El Jadida in the late afternoon (Mia Mazagan or similar). (B)


    April 11 Day 8: El Jadida
    After breakfast, have time on your own before visiting the El Jadida medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its ochre walls and interlacing narrow streets. Visit the Portuguese Cistern (if open), whose vaults were used as decoration for Orson Welles Othello and a former armory dating from 1514 believed to be built by Jews fleeing the Spanish Inquisition, which was converted into cistern in the sixteenth century, lying beneath the Mazagan Fortress. Return to your guesthouse for the night (Hotel la Place or similar). (B).

    April 12 Day 9: Casablanca Departure (tour depends on departure time) After breakfast, depart for the Casablanca Airport for your flight to the US or wherever your next destination may be. (B)

    After breakfast, have time on your own before a visit to IDMAJ. Return to your guesthouse for the night (Relax Hotel Voyageurs or similar). (B)

    April 11 Day 8: Casablanca
    After breakfast, explore the Marche Solidaire, a vibrant market promoting a social and solidarity- based economy, in particular women-led projects, through a wide range of fair-trade Moroccan goods crafted by local cooperatives. Stop for lunch and have time on your own before a visit to IDMAJ. Return to your guesthouse for the night (Relax Hotel Voyageurs or similar). (B)

    April 12 Day 9: Casablanca Departure (tour depends on departure time) After breakfast, depart for the Casablanca Airport for your flight to the US or wherever your next
    destination may be. (B)

    The trip is limited to 20 people. The first 20 deposits received will be guaranteed a space on the trip. Deposit due by February 10th, 2026, and is non-refundable. If we receive your deposit after the 20 slots have been filled, you will be given the option of having your deposit returned or letting us hold your deposit on a “stand-by" basis in case one or more of the first 20 depositors fail to make their final payment due on March 10th, 2026, in which case you will be added to the trip roster.
