• Decolonial Conference Proposal Form (Submit by October 3, 2025)

  • The Decolonial Conference will be held in a small venue (LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes), so in-person registration will be capped. We currently have two rooms and an outdoor patio area reserved for the conference. Due to the conference's aim to create a radical space for political education, this conference will be more intimate than most but it will offer presentations and panels that are much more militant in form and content.

On April 6-7 2026, we will have the in-person conference and on April 8 it will be entirely online. Online attendees will have access to some (hopefully all) pre-recorded in-person sessions, which will vary since not all presenters will consent to being recorded.

The paper proposal should be 400-600 words (excluding references) yet the symposium and workshop proposium will vary. Proposals must align with the call.

Individual Paper: The Decolonial Conference welcomes individual paper proposals. All accepted individual papers will be grouped together around common or overlapping themes into sessions by the Program Committee. Each paper session is 90 minutes long.

Symposium: The Decolonial Conference welcomes symposium proposals, typically consisting of 3–5 papers (200-300 word abstracts) centered around a common theme. Each session includes a chair and up to two discussants. Sessions are 90 minutes long.

Workshops: Workshops are designed to engage in dialogue among public intellectuals, activists, community leaders, and scholars, and to promote political education. Proposals should include 1–3 speakers or facilitators. Each workshop session is 90 minutes long.

    All proposals MUST include:

Title Page: Author(s)/presenters' information (name, affiliation, and email address)
    Presentation type
    Abstract (maximum 50-100 words)
Paper Proposal (400-600 words), including: objectives, methodology, analysis/interpretation, discussion, and conclusion (not applicable for conceptual pieces, essays, and poetic/artistics interventions), and a list of references
