The Steering Committee (SC) is a central body of the PREZODE initiative that proposes the initiative’s strategy, presents deliverables to the GA, and oversees the implementation of the initiative.
The SC is composed of 5 colleges. The current call is open for the following three colleges:
- The Science College: 5 seats to be filled. Candidates to this College must be internationally acknowledged experts, thus must provide a CV and a list of peer-reviewed publications. They apply as individuals. A recommendation letter from a PREZODE member, other than the organization with which they work regularly, would be an asset.
- The Regional College: 5 seats to be filled, (one for each of the 5 regions of the world: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Candidates for this College must belong to an institution or organization member of PREZODE, which has signed the declaration of intent before November 21, 2024. They must justify their link to their region as well as their expertise in regional health issues.
- The Civil Society College: 3 seats to be filled, allocated to representatives of Civil Society organizations (NGOs, community groups, etc.). Candidates for the Civil Society College must belong to an institution or organization member of PREZODE, which has signed the declaration of intent before November 21, 2024, and must justify their expertise in health issues.
We require the candidate to:
- Adhere to PREZODE’s values and be involved in the One Health and prove their expertise and degrees in domains relevant to PREZODE’s mission.
- Understand that the Steering Committee is tasked with broad activities, science being one among them.
- Understand that participation in Steering Committee activities and meetings is required, and remain engaged with PREZODE throughout their term. If they are inconsistent and irregular in their participation in PREZODE activities and SC meetings, their mandate will be terminated before the end of their term. They will not be permitted to apply for a new SC mandate.
Their participation and involvement in the Pillar Working groups will be highly appreciated.
SC members will not receive financial compensation for their work, but they will occupy strategic positions in the high-level PREZODE international network. SC members are encouraged to attend and participate in relevant local and international events on behalf of PREZODE, provided that it is approved by a majority of SC members. In this regard, PREZODE will cover expenses up to a maximum limit.
