Welcome to the 2025 admission process for trainee solicitors who commenced their training in September 2023.

You should now have completed your two year training contract and have therefore received an email inviting you to apply for admission to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland ("the Roll"), as a solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland.

We advise that applications for admission may take between two to three weeks. Your admission may take longer should your application be incomplete and we require any further information from you.

If you require a practising certificate (PC), you will be eligible to apply for this AFTER you have been admitted to the Roll.

There is no save option available so please ensure you have all information and documentation to hand before commencing your application.

Fee Payment

Admission to the Roll requires the payment of a £50 admission fee per application.

We previously wrote to you in respect to the advance payment option for this fee. If you or your organisation have already made this payment, we do not require anything from you and, provided your application is complete, we can begin the admissions process.

If you have not yet made this payment, upon submission of your application you will receive a confirmation email which will include a Payment Guide and a link to the online card payment form. Please be aware that we do not issue invoices for this fee.

You will receive a receipt via email once payment is made. If applicable, you may use this to claim reimbursement from your office.

Alternatively, if your organisation is paying this fee for you, please forward this email including the Payment Guide, along with your Trainee ID, to the appropriate contact in your office.

Please note, payment of this fee is required before your application can progress.
