I know that participating in a running program is a potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter or participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to participate, in good health, and properly trained.
I agree to abide by any decision of a Point 2 Running Company employee regarding any aspect of my participation in this program, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in this program, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather (including high heat and/or humidity), traffic, the conditions of the road or sidewalks, and other unforeseen hazards. All such risks are known and appreciated by me.
Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Point 2 Running Company, its employees, volunteers, and agents; the cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Smithfield, Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach, Virginia; and all sponsors, their representatives, and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising from my participation in this program—even if such liability arises from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities named in this waiver.
For Participants Under 18 Years of Age:
I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, certify that I have read and understand this waiver and release. I understand the nature of this running program and the minor’s experience and capabilities and believe the minor to be qualified to participate safely. I hereby give my consent for the minor to participate and assume all risks on their behalf. I, for myself and on behalf of the minor, agree to the terms of this waiver and release, and waive and release all claims as stated above.
By submitting this entry, I acknowledge that I (or a parent or legal guardian for all participants under 18 years of age) have read, understand, and agree to the terms of this release and waiver.
