  • Broadway are the lead partner of the East Midlands for the 2025-26 BFI Film Academy Short Course Programme. They are proudly partnered with QUAD in Derby, Paradigm Arts in Lincoln & The Core at Corby Cube and Northampton Film Festival in Corby.

    This application form is for young people interested in joining Broadway Cinema's prestigious BFI Film Academy Short Course 2025–26.

    Applications open: Friday 1 August 2025

    Applications close: Sunday 21 September 2025 at 11.45pm.


    Before you begin your application, please read the following important information:

    • Correct Course: Please ensure you are applying to the correct East Midlands Short Course - details can be found on the dedicated page here.
    • Attendance: You must be available to attend all course dates and times (listed on the main course page) to be considered.
    • Completeness: All sections of the application form must be completed in full. You can save this form and return to it later — just make sure you submit your application by the deadline.
    • Creative Work: You’ll have the opportunity to share your creative interests and experience through written statements and links to your work. Please stay within the word limits and ensure all hyperlinks and passwords work.
    • Competitiveness: This is a highly competitive programme, and we will only select 20 participants. To strengthen your application, we strongly recommend signing up for one of our online information sessions for tips and detailed guidance.
