  • BAVC Media Youth Student Board application 2025-2026

Applications accepted on a rolling basis, and close January 12th, 2026
  • Are you interested in filmmaking, leadership, and the film and media industry? Do you want to increase your leadership skills while building connections in the film community in the SF Bay Area? The BAVC Media Youth Student Board gives a group of passionate young film and media makers the opportunity to give feedback on YEMM (Youth and Emerging Media Makers) curriculum, build media industry-specific career skills, attend guest lectures from experts from around the film industry, and create films with support from BAVC Media staff. Student board members will be mentored in developing their voices as filmmakers and be the face of BAVC Media Youth programs for the 2025-2026 school year. The student board is active from October 2025-May 2026.

It is entirely free to participate! Student board members will meet once a week on Wednesday evenings from 5pm-6:30pm PST starting on January 21st, 2026. Students with good attendance and project completion will recieve a $300 stipend per semester ($600 for the school year!)

This is a hybrid program, the majority of meetings will be virtual on Zoom, with the exception of field trips and guest speakers roughly once a month.
