  • Child Protection Self Declaration and Agreement

    1. I will seek to create and maintain an organisational environment that is free of harassment and exploitation, and to ensure the same in all of our work with the communities that we work with.

    2. I acknowledge the rights of, and protect the well-being of, all children (persons under the age of 18 years) that we work with.

    3. I understand my own role in protecting children and that I will take all practical and reasonable steps to minimise the risk of harm to children.

    4. I agree to abide by the behaviour protocols, and follow the reporting procedure, set out in the Singapore Gymnastics Safe Sport Commitment Statement.

    5. I do not have a criminal record nor have undergone disciplinary action relating to forms of child abuse, neglect or violence of any type.

    6. I hereby agree to the conditions and guidelines set out by Singapore Gymnastics with regard to any contact with children in Singapore.

    7. I understand that Singapore Gymnastics reserves the right to take legal action against me if I breach local or international child protection laws.

    It is the responsibility of all volunteers, to:

    • protect children and young people from all forms of abuse, bullying and exploitation by our people;
    • be alert to incidents of child abuse and neglect occurring outside of our sport that may have an impact on the children and young people; and
    • create and maintain a child safe culture that is understood, endorsed and put into action by all the individuals who work for, volunteer or access our programs and services.
