Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Agreement

This is an Agreement between Paws & Claws Neston (The Dog Walker and Pet Sitter) and the Client (Owner). Services, charges, days and times to be agreed by both parties and set out in writing.

The utmost of care will be given in watching both your pet(s) and your home. Paws & Claws Neston will undertake the agreed-on services and the Owner undertakes to provide all necessary information to assist in this performance. Paws & Claws Neston will provide the services agreed in a reliable, caring and trust worthy manner. 

Paws & Claws Neston is insured in the event that your pet is injured while in our care. We cannot accept responsibility for any accident or injury that we could not have prevented. We highly recommend that all pets are insured with a reputable insurance provider and that owners are aware of what their policies cover.

Paws & Claws Neston undertakes to notify the Owner of any occurrence pertaining to the pet which may be relevant to their care and well-being.

SERVICES One on one dog walks, group dog walks, pet sitting, pet feeding, puppy visits, pick up and drop off service.

PICK UP/DROP OFF Whilst there is always the intent to arrive at the allotted time, there is always an hour window of time allowed to pick up and drop off your dog i.e. a 10am pick up can mean any time between 9am and 11am.

REQUIREMENTS All pets under the care of Paws & Claws Neston are to be up to date on vaccinations. This includes Flea and worm treatments. All Dogs MUST have a current registration. The Owner will provide suitable harnesses, collars and leads as approved by the Walker as well as coats or muzzles if required.

As a courtesy to The Pet Sitter and to ensure The Pet Sitter is able to professionally provide services to your pet(s) and home without inconvenience, the service address (e.g. your home) should be kept in clean and orderly condition during the service dates. The client must provide all items necessary for pets to be adequately cared for in the client's absence (i.e. food, medication, bedding, cat litter etc). Should pets require any additional supplies whilst in the care of The Pet Sitter, these will be purchased and charged to the Client along with a £10 surcharge.

If you are unhappy for your dog(s) to be let off the lead when in a safe environment you must notify Paws & Claws Neston explicitly. The owner takes full responsibility for any disappearance of their dog(s) and their actions whilst off the lead.

SOCIAL MEDIA The client gives consent for their pet’s image to be used in photo or video format on Paws & Claws Neston social media pages or promotional material. If you DO NOT wish for your pet's image to appear, please email to say so, in advance of any services.

DUTIES/SERVICES Paws & Claws Neston shall not be obliged to perform any other duties except those specified and agreed upon, per this agreement.

KEYS Paws & Claws Neston warrants to keep safe and confidential all keys, remote control entry devices, access codes and personal information of the Owner and to return same to the Owner at the end of the contract period or immediately upon demand.

PAYMENT The client is responsible for settling the invoice for services 7 days prior to the commencement of the service. For pet sitting services, 50% deposit is required to secure the dates. Any late payments may require a £20 penalty. All payments can be acknowledged and receipted if required.

CANCELLATIONS Cancellation by the Owner of scheduled walks with less than 24hrs notice may be charged at the full rate or rescheduled at the discretion of the Walker. This includes missed walks due to dog not being available on pick up.  Where the Walker as sole proprietor needs to cancel a scheduled walk due to unforeseen circumstances, they may change days or extra walks will be arranged.

Pet Sitting charges 50% of the scheduled visits if cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. Should the client return early during a booking, full fees are payable. 

TERMINATION If either party wish to terminate scheduled ongoing services, parties need to give 7 (seven) days written notice of termination. Paws & Claws Neston reserves the right to terminate the service at any time, if the walker in its sole discretion, determines that Client’s pet poses a danger to the health or safety of the walker, any animals or any person. Any wrongful or misleading information in the Owner's or Pet Information sheets may constitute a breach of terms of this Dog Walking Agreement and can be grounds for instant termination thereof.

Termination under the circumstances described above shall not entitle the Owner to any refunds nor relief of any outstanding payments due.

DAMAGES Paws & Claws Neston accepts no liability for any breach of security or loss of or damage to the Owner's property if any other person has access to the property during the term of this agreement. Paws & Claws Neston shall not be liable for any mishap of whatsoever nature which may befall a animal or caused by an animal who has unsupervised access to the outdoors.

It is understood that anyone with access to the home will be notified of Paws & Claws Neston presence and vice versa. Paws & Claws Neston will not be held responsible for any damages incurred to your home or pet(s) by pre – authorised visitors. The Client agrees to notify Paws & Claws Neston of any concerns within 24 hours of client’s return home. Paws & Claws Neston cannot be held responsible for any mishaps, claims, and/or expenses attributed to a destructive or unpredictable behavior of the Client’s pet(s) that cause damage to the Client’s home/property and/or a neighbour’s home/property (i.e. biting, furniture damage, accidental death, etc). Nor can Paws & Claws Neston be held liable for injury, disappearance, death, or fines of pet(s) with access to the outdoors.

LOSS OR INJURY The Owner shall be liable for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to the Walker/Pet Sitter, any animals or any person caused by the animal as well as damage to any property.

INDEMNITY The maximum aggregate liability of Paws & Claws Neston under or in connection with the Agreement, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, must not exceed the Fees paid and/or payable by the Client under this Agreement. 

GENERAL PROVISION Paws & Claws Neston is not liable to the Client for any failure to perform its obligations under the Agreement to the extent caused by Force Majeure, provided that the affected party a) immediately notifies the other party and provides full information about the Force Majeure; b) uses best endeavors to overcome the Force Majeure; and c) continues to perform its obligations as far as practicable.

EMERGIENCIES If the Client, or the other contact person cannot be reached, the Client agrees to accept any decision Paws & Claws Neston makes in regards to the pet’s care or Clients property. The Client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst pets are in the care of Paws & Claws Neston. The Client agrees to reimburse Paws & Claws Neston for any additional fees for tending to emergency or veterinary care as well as any expenses incurred for same. The Client also agrees to reimburse for additional time accrued at the rate of £20 per hour in the case of such an emergency.

I have read the above agreement. I know, understand, and agree to all terms stated above. By signing below, I am accepting this document as a contractual agreement.
