  • St. Thomas Apostle Religious Education - Confirmation Prep

    You will receive a information, including a schedule, at orientation. THE DATE OF CONFIRMATION IS NOT SET - THIS COMES FROM THE DIOCESE AND WE ARE STILL WAITING! At Confirmation, the Baptized become more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. They, as witnesses of Christ, are more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed. To be confirmed means to make a “covenant” in an exchange of persons with God. In this covenant, we are given the fullness of the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit and their Fruits. Throughout this season of sacramental prep, Confirmands will have the opportunity to complete spiritual and corporal works of mercy with their peers in collaboration with parish staff, Catholic charities and organizations. Students will also engage in regular catechetical sessions that will focus on Scripture Study and will include group discussion and dedicated prayer time to deepen their faith and spiritual lives. All of this will be aimed at a deeper appreciation for what the Sacrament of Confirmation and Gifts of the Holy Spirit will do for the as they embark on this next chapter of their spiritual lives. In addition to these sessions, Confirmands will be given at-home catechesis and spiritual exercises to complete throughout each month so that they can take what they learned and incorporate it into their lives at home. Confirmands will also participate in a one-day retreat which will include Mass, Reconciliation, prayer, and other spiritually edifying and fellowship building activities.     The cost for Confirmation prep is $120/student. Please total your fees and pay with cash, check, or digital transaction; if writing a check, please put "Religious Education" and your family name in the memo line. AFTER AUGUST 31, ADD A LATE FEE OF $30; REGISTRATION CLOSES SEPTEMBER 15.
