Unega Mountain Dog Rescue Adoption Form for a Working LGD

Unega Mountain Dog Rescue Adoption Form for a Working LGD

This form is for outdoor working guardians who will protect and manage your property. If you prefer an indoor companion, please use our other adoption form. All our guardians come from abandonment and abuse backgrounds, and we seek committed homes dedicated to rehabilitating these working dogs from others' failures. Please answer honestly, only apply if you're ready to adopt with family support, and prioritize their working needs—not yours—with patience and dedication.

**Please Read This Carefully Before Applying** We kindly ask that you do NOT apply unless you are fully prepared to commit to our adoption process. There are many questions and submitting this form is not a guaranteed adoption. Our team will do their research and possibly request a property check either on site or through photo and video. Before submitting please review the instinctual behaviors and traits of Livestock Guardian Dogs. They WILL exhibit guardian behaviors. And if you are interested in a puppy, remember: ALL PUPPIES GROW UP. And when a guardian puppy grows up, their behaviors must be attended to, focused on, and honored. Before submitting an application, please make sure you have had an open and thorough conversation with **everyone in your household**. It’s essential that all members are fully on board and understand the responsibility involved. The dogs in our care often come from extremely traumatic situations. Many have been severely neglected, abused, or starved. They need homes that are patient, understanding, and willing to invest time in their healing and adjustment. If you're truly ready to open your heart and home to a dog in need — and to be part of their recovery journey — we welcome your application with gratitude. --- We do NOT make guarantees about a dog’s behavior, temperament, energy level, compatibility with children or other pets, level of training, or adaptability. These dogs come from highly unpredictable and often traumatic backgrounds. There are simply too many variables beyond our control — their future success depends largely on the commitment, patience, and environment provided by the home they enter. Your willingness to work through challenges and help them adjust is crucial to their success.
