• Application for Non-Constituency School Assistance

    McDonald Road SDA Church Members
  • DUE JUNE 21, 2026

Seventh-day Adventist's believe the education in a church operated school is an essential element in preparing young people to be Christian witnesses. McDonald Road Church wants to encourage our church members to remain active members and grow happy healthy families. McDonald Road Church is committed to assisting member families, when possible, with th est education choice for each child. When a student attends a non-constituent school (Lester Coon, Ooltewah, Standifer Gap) funds may be available to help families meet the additional tuition cost for non-constituent fees as follows:

    1. Parents and children shall maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward the total program of the school system and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A policy will be given to every applicant.
    2. Parents and children are expected to support the McDonald Road Church by:
      1. Membership in McDonald Road Church and regular attendance.
      2. Demonstrating faithfulness in tithing and giving other offerings.
      3. Participating in work projects when appeals are made.
    3. Assistance is for students whose parents have been members of the McDonald Road Church during the year preceeding the application for assistance, or for exchange students who live with and are solely supported by a sponsoring members. The student's parents or the sponsoring member must have been a member of the McDonald Road Church for at least one year.
    4. The parents/financial sponsor shall pay the remaining tuition amount on their children's tuition, and this payment must be kept current to assure continued assistance from the church.
    5. Students and both parents are encouraged to obtain employment and to contribute financially to the student's education.

Non-constituent assistance is available for teh difference between the monthly constituent and non-constituent amount and is based on the difference between the monthly constituent and non-constituent tuition at Greater Collegedale School System. The maximum assistance granted will not exceed an amount equal to the difference at Collegedale. Nothing is contributed toward the entrance fee.

The Finance Committee Chairman will confirm the assistance amount and, if appicable, any special action taken by the committee.

The church treasurer will confirm enrollment with the school at the beginning of each semester. Should the student cancel at any time, the parent must accept responsibiity for giving notice of the cancellation to the church treasurer immediately.

The school must bill the church monthly for the non-constituent amount. Our treasurer will then send payment directly to the school. If the school wil not invoice McDonald Road Church monthly, the payment from the church will lag one month behind because the church's payment will be for the prior month. However, McDonald Road's April 30 payment will cover the remainder of the school year. If this causes conflict with the school, resolution is between the parents and the school.

Student assistance may be terminated for non-compliance of policies.

Procedure for making application is as follows:

    1. An application for student assistance must apply for each year support is desired.
    2. Submit application by the announced deadline.
