Recipients will receive an annual award of $10,000 (excluding fees) for the duration of their enrollment, provided they fulfill all chaplaincy, retreat, service, and athletic requirements, participate fully in at least one student club or organization, and avoid serious disciplinary infractions.
The Saint Benedict Scholarship was established in 2023 for 7th grade students who exemplify intellectual curiosity, eagerness for moral and spiritual growth, and an enthusiastic commitment to building up community at home, school, neighborhood, and within his faith community. He will exemplify Saint Benedict’s ideal of the novice: full of good zeal, love of God, and respect for neighbor.
The Saint Benedict Scholar will:
- have demonstrated an openness to moral and spiritual growth, hospitality and good stewardship, and an eagerness to be part of the Priory community
- have provided a well-written and thought-provoking essay
- have demonstrated uncommon commitment to his family, school, and spiritual community
- have a strong desire to receive a Catholic Benedictine formation, as illustrated by the 12 Hallmarks of a Benedictine School
Saint Benedict Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Saint Louis Priory School Admissions Committee based on application materials and essay responses.
