between Caitlin Burns/ CB Equestrian and all owners, officers, volunteers, and all other instructors of the farm (hereinafter referred to as “Organization”) and the person(s) executing this document (hereinafter referred to as “Rider”).

In consideration for Organization services, including but not limited to teaching, providing shows, jump schooling opportunities, training, grooming, boarding, lessons, and horse handling, Rider voluntarily agrees to the terms of this RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT and hereby agrees to personally assume the risks associated with horseback riding and being around, near, and on horses.

FURTHER, BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, RIDER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THERE ARE INHERENT RISKS IN USING AND BEING AROUND HORSES.
THOSE RISKS INCLUDE SERIOUS BODILY INJURY AND DEATH. RIDER UNDERSTANDS THAT HORSES ARE UNPREDICTABLE AND CAPABLE OF SUDDEN, UNEXPECTED, AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS MOVEMENTS DESPITE THEIR PRIOR HISTORY. RIDER FURTHER UNDERSTANDS THAT HORSES ARE EASILY FRIGHTENED BY SOUND, SUDDEN MOVEMENT, UNFAMILIAR OBJECTS, SMELLS, PERSONS, OR OTHER ANIMALS. THEY MAY RUN, BITE, BUCK, KICK, OR REACT TO STIMULI UNPREDICTABLY. HORSES MAY ENCOUNTER NATURAL HAZARDS SUCH AS SURFACE OR SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS, AND MAY COLLIDE WITH OBJECTS, PERSONS, OR ANIMALS. RIDERS MAY FALL OFF AND BECOME INJURED. HORSES CAN ALSO INJURE THEMSELVES WITHOUT EXTERNAL CAUSE. PARTICIPATION IN SHOW JUMPING AND CROSS-COUNTRY JUMPING FURTHER ELEVATES THESE RISKS.

Rider hereby releases, waives, and forever discharges Organization of all actions of
whatever kind or nature either in law or in equity arising from or by reason of any bodily injury or personal injuries, known or unknown, death, or property damage – including damage to Rider’s horse or other personal property – resulting during Rider’s involvement on Organization’s premises or during any activity involving Organization services, unless resulting from greater than ordinary negligence on the part of Organization. Rider assumes full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury, death, or property damage and agrees to hold Organization harmless as outlined herein.

Rider represents that his/her horse is healthy with no behavioral problems and has a current negative Coggins test. Rider agrees to wear an ASTM-approved helmet for all riding activities and an ASTM-approved vest for cross-country jumping.

This release is given on behalf of Rider, Rider’s spouse, legal representatives, administrators, executors, heirs, and assigns, and in the case of any children of Rider, on behalf of them and their respective legal representatives. This release remains in effect until revoked in writing by the Rider.

RIDER ACKNOWLEDGES AND AFFIRMS THAT HE/SHE HAS CAREFULLY READ THE CONTENTS OF THIS DOCUMENT, UNDERSTANDS ITS MEANING, AND HAS VOLUNTARILY EXECUTED THE SAME.

💳 Payment Processing Waiver I acknowledge that CB Equestrian processes payments using third-party platforms including, but not limited to, Squarespace-integrated payment processors, Square, and QuickBooks Online. I understand that my payment information may be securely handled by these third-party services and not stored directly by CB Equestrian.

I agree to the use of third-party payment processors and accept the terms of payment, refund, and billing policies established by CB Equestrian.

💊 Medication Administration Waiver- I authorize CB Equestrian, Caitlin Burns, and their staff or agents to administer medication or supplements to my horse as needed, in accordance with veterinary guidance or standard equine care practices. This includes but is not limited to: Acepromazine (tranquilizer/sedative)Adequan (joint supplement) Legend (hyaluronic acid injection) NSAIDs such as Bute or Banamine, Gastrointestinal treatments like Ulcerguard, Electrolytes, or other oral/topical treatments. I understand that CB Equestrian will make reasonable efforts to contact me before administering medication when possible, and I release them from liability arising from such administration.*

I consent to the administration of medication as described above and release CB Equestrian and its agents from liability associated with its use.I do not consent to CB Equestrian administering medication.

📸 Photo & Media Release (Optional)CB Equestrian occasionally takes photos and videos during lessons, clinics, or barn activities for educational or marketing purposes. These may be shared via the website, social media, or promotional materials. Rider names will not be published without prior permission.*
