This scholarship provides an annual $10,000 award for each recipient (excluding fees), provided he fulfills all chaplaincy, retreat, service, and athletic requirements, participates fully in at least one student club or organization, and avoids serious disciplinary infractions.
This scholarship was established in 2023 in honor of Monsignor Robert P. Slattery, the founding pastor of Saint Anselm Parish. Saint Anselm Parish and Saint Louis Priory School were established to serve families of the Archdiocese, and this scholarship program reinforces that mission for everyone currently enrolled in Archdiocesan schools.
The Monsignor Slattery Scholarship is given to new 9th grade students who meet the following criteria:
- are Catholics who have completed PSR or received the sacrament of Confirmation
- are students of any faith currently enrolled in a Catholic school within the Archdiocese of Saint Louis for more than one year
The Monsignor Slattery Scholarship Recipient will:
- have demonstrated an openness to moral and spiritual growth, hospitality and good stewardship, and an eagerness to be part of the Priory community
- have provided a well-written and thought-provoking essay
- have demonstrated uncommon commitment to parish or Catholic school community
- have a strong desire to receive a Catholic Benedictine formation, as illustrated by the 12 Hallmarks of a Benedictine School
Monsignor Slattery Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Saint Louis Priory School Admissions Committee based on application materials and essay responses.
