AAWR Arleo Advocacy Award (A4)
The Arleo Advocacy Award (A4) is presented to recognize an AAWR member who has shown excellence in advocacy, defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as "the act or process of supporting a cause or proposal". The AAWR was founded in 1981 to provide a form for issues unique to women in radiology, radiation oncology and related professions; to sponsor programs that promote opportunities for women; and to facilitate communication among members and other professionals. The awardee will be expected to write a short article for the AAWR Focus Newsletter about their advocacy on behalf of the AAWR and/or women in radiology and radiation oncology.
