Walk the Walkcycle

FAB 2025 is looking for your walkcycle!

Look in your drawers or on your hard drives and send us your animated walkcycle for our first “Walk the Walkcycle” project!

As part of the 5th FAB Dimensional exhibitions, we are bringing your animation to the streets this year. With a handcart, two square LED panels with 128x128px resolution, and a powerful battery, we are walking through Berlin and to bring your walkcycles to the streets of the big city.

The faster the trailer is pulled, the faster your character runs behind it.

From the submitted entries, we will select the best walkcycles and do the technical setup for the show. You will informed if your character has been selected by mid-September 2025.

Please send us the walkcycle ideally in this format:

File format: png-sequence with transparent background (alpha channel) as .zip-file

Framerate: ideally 12fps

Resolution: the resolution of the LED displays is only 128x128px. Please consider that fine lines might disappear when reducing the resolution! What worked good in that format during our tests is pixel art walkcycles or white outlines.
