Founded in 1964, SWNA (EIN: 52-6056296) is a volunteer driven civic non profit organization for near Southwest Washington, DC (zip code 20024). We also coordinate with the residents and organizations that populate the Navy Yard.
Governed by by-laws and an elected board, our mission is to focus on building a better, more engaged community and to improve the quality of life for our 16,000 plus residents.
SWNA consists of The Southwester, a monthly news publication, monthly community meetings, a robust scholarship program and issue focused task forces (Digital Empowerment, Education & Scholarship, Emergency Preparedness, SW Heritage (History), Technology, and SWNA Youth Activities). We also manage funds for the Landsburg Community Garden, Books for Kids and Friends of the Southwest Library.
