Data Notice - what we do with the data you share with us
In this form we will ask you to share your contact details and some personal information with us.

This is for two reasons: Firstly, to enable us to communicate with you about the project; secondly, to help us to report about who attends and benefits from our activities, which are publically funded through Arts Council England.

Data gathered using this form will only be shared with the project's lead artist, Alexandrina Hemsley, and in anonymised form, with Arts Council England.

Your data will not be reused, sold, or given to any other parties, and will be held securely and sensitively, in accordance with UK law. All data will be anonymised.

Please note it is likely there will be more applications than places and applicants will be selected based on their responses and material submitted through this application form. Please use the section to tell us why you’re the right candidate to be accepted on this course. We strongly encourage you to save your supporting statements in a word document and cut and paste them into the application form to avoid losing your work.
Why do you want to take part the BFI Film Academy?*
Please tell us about your experience and/or interest in Film. This could include your favourite film or television or a class that you have taken at school, for example. If you like, you can submit some work (a film/photograph/piece of writing/ a website/ an animation etc.) to support your answer. Please provide these links and passwords (if required)below - e.g. to YouTube, Vimeo etc.*
Please use this place to tell us if you have any particular areas of interest in film such as directing, programming, screenwriting, visual effects, sound design, etc.*
File Upload - If you have a script or an idea for a 2-5 minute short film, that you would like to be considered for the Kent BFI Film Academy short film, then please submit below (Your idea or Script does not need to be fully formed).

Section 3: Terms and Conditions

The BFI Film Academy will be delivered by the course provider. Your submission of this form to us will constitute your confirmation of the following declaration: - I hereby confirm that the information I have given in this application is true and correct. - I confirm my availability for the BFI Film Academy as per the dates given above. - I agree that the BFI Film Academy course provider and/or the BFI may, for administrative purposes only, make copies of any material submitted in support of my application. - By submitting this form, I understand that the Film Academy course provider and the BFI will store and process my data as described below in accordance with professional standards and data protection legislation. - If under 18 I confirm that my parent or guardian has given me permission to apply to the BFI Film Academy.
Data Protection

In order for you to be able to participate in the BFI Academy, the course provider needs to be able to process your personal data as part of the applications, registration, learning support, and awards processes. - Part or all of the information you give to the BFI Academy Partner will be provided to the BFI. - The BFI will retain this information following your participation in the Film Academy for statistical purposes only, unless otherwise agreed. - The BFI may share your name and contact details with a company who helps evaluate the BFI Film Academy. They may contact you to invite you to participate in a survey evaluating the course.
