  • Additional Information and Personal Questions:

  • Living as a Christian means following Jesus as the boss and leader of your life. A mark of Christian maturity is a growing relationship with Jesus, including obeying biblical principles. It’s important that your relationship with Jesus grow in love and
obedience to Him, whether through your thoughts, words or actions. We expect all staff, whether on or off duty, to commit to the following during their time of employment at Ray Bird Ministries. (This is not a complete list of policies, but rather, ones we think will help you to understand what we value as an organization and what we expect from our staff.)

    1. Participate in daily devotionals, Bible reading, and prayer as well as weekly small group meetings and church gatherings.

    2. Abstain from using or promoting media or substances that degrade you or others, including pornography, illegal drugs, abusive language, etc.

    3. Only pursue or promote a sexuality or gender expression that is consistent with the following Biblical teaching:

    a. Every person is created in the image of God and is deserving of respect because of that alone.
    b. Every person is created either male or female.
    c. God ordains one man for one woman in a covenantal union called marriage.
    d. Males and females reflect unique characteristics of God and together they reflect God’s fullness more accurately.
    e. All sexual activity outside of God’s design for marriage of one man and one woman is sinful, whether homosexual or heterosexual, etc.
    4. Willingly submit to authority. This includes obeying the government. It also includes obeying the camp’s rules that help us live well and in community with each other, including dress code, health and safety standards, dating relationships,
curfew, abstinence from alcohol, smoking products, etc.

We do not expect all staff to be completely “settled” on their personal beliefs. We acknowledge some of these issues can be complicated or confused by disorder, abuse, trauma, self-harm, and more.
