    FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR APPRENTICE
  • APPRENTICE CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

    Must have the following.

    • A NC Driver License. Active.
    • A NC Concealed Carry Permit. Active.
    • A Membership to The National Rifle Association. Active.
    • Pass a criminal background check. No Criminal Convictions.
    • Above average communication skill.
    • Above average situational awareness skills.
    • Above average safe gun handling skills.
    • The ability to follow directions in a stressful situation.
    • The ability to give directions clearly in a stressful situation.
    • The ability to supervise students on a shooting range safely.

    Preferred but not required to have one of the following.

    • Law Enforcement Background. Active or Retired with 5 plus years.
    • Millitary Background. Clean Service Record.

    Must have or be able to receive the following training within 1 year.

    • NRA Basic Pistol Certificate with a level 4 shooting score.
    • NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Training. Active Certification.

    The apprentice candidate will be required to attend a number of training sessions taught by the Chief Instructor. The apprentice candidate will be required to assist the Instructor and/or staff for a number of live fire training sessions before any pay will be received.
    The apprentice candidate will not receive any pay for assisting until the Chief Instructor and the Instructor staff has evaluated and voted in favor of the candidate after assisting in several training sessions. The apprentice candidate will be offered Instructor Training after successful completion of the apprenticeship program. The apprenticeship program will last approximately one year.
