Purpose: To provide the MS Coach with the funds and tools needed to coaches that results in keeping Club teams and creating new teams that results in an enjoyable tennis experience for MS players.
Eligibility: Any school that is part of the USTA Ohio Valley that currently does not have a school sponsored MS tennis team. If you are the coach of teams in different seasons, you need complete a seperate application for each season.
Goal: Support 40 teams across the District
Duration: 3 year commitment per team/season, as long as team meets requirements
Selection: Based on the order applications are received and where in the District the team is located.
Application deadline: December 31, 2025 or until the 40 teams have been reached.
To be eligible coaches/team must:
- Attend Local Coaches Clinic (3 hours)
- Register for coach’s clinic by deadline
- Attend and stay for the duration of the coach's clinic.
- Create account on ServeTennis and enter players
- Safeplay compliant prior to practice beginning.
- Provide match schedule, minimum of 3 matches
- Participate in end of year team tournament
- Provide end of season report with the number of players on MS Team
What will USTA Ohio Valley provide if selected to grant:
- $1500 coach stipend
- $500 travel stipend
- $500 gift card to online tennis store
- coach can purchase items needed to run successful practices
- hold team matches
- purchase team uniforms
- USTA School Coaches resources information
- provide the support you need to coach student athletes and create positive experiences with easy-to-access resources and technology.
- Create and maintain directory of MS Coaches to help with the scheduling of matches
- host virtual meeting where coaches can meet and schedule matches
- Work with MS coaches to advocate for the team to become a school sponsored sport
- Will host a end of year team tournament in Columbus
