Here are brief descriptions of Bandelier Elementary PTA activities that make the school special. Please check all the options that interest you, and we will contact you with more information. Expenses related to PTA activities will be reimbursed. We would love to add additional opportunities that fit your talents and schedule!

Teacher Appreciation: monthly treats to celebrate our teachers and staffTardy Team: a weekly volunteer position to check-in students arriving after the first bell in the morningRoom Reps: volunteer in your child's classroom for special projects and events or on a more regular basis as coordinated with the teacherField Trip Chaperone: join your student's classroom with your APS volunteer background check, good for two years (we'll send you the how to's)Snack Pack: flexible volunteering to bulk shop for nutritional support provided weekly to Bandelier students in need of calorie support for the weekendsBear-a-thon: our fall jogathon and largest fundraiser for the school to raise funds for student advocacy and special school projectsCampus Beautification: twice yearly community gathering to tidy the outside of our schoolCopy Crew: weekly support making photocopies for teachers so they can spend more time with our studentsScholastic Book Fair: a twice yearly event to support a love of reading and our school librarySchool Garden: a group that volunteers to maintain the plants, trees, and space as an outdoor classroom for experiential learning and community gathering space, and organizes activities and events connected to nature and environment awarenessHalloween Carnival: the Saturday before Halloween our school is transformed into an enchanted forest with various themes, characters in costume, games, a haunted house, and food since 1939!Food Drives for School Breaks: gathered donations twice a year with direct support for families in our school communityBandelier Bazaar: held in late November or early December, this is a holiday craft fair open to the whole community with local makers and artistsSock Hop: held in February, our school-wide dance partySun and Shade: share sun safety information and sunscreen throughout the yearSpring Festival: a community event in April showcasing students' achievements in art, music, and P.E.5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony: an end of the year celebration for our kiddos moving on to middle schoolVolunteer from home: flexible volunteering, special projects as neededOther

Meetings are in the cafeteria on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:30. We will have pizza and childcare!
