  • The Olympic Program Athlete Development Framework has been developed by our High Performance Program team including our National Weapons Coaches, S&C coach, Mindset coach, and the High Performance Commission. It includes the attributes and standards that athletes and our high performance system need to meet to beable to achieve results at the different stages of athlete development. The ADF is closely aligned with athlete categorisation criteria and categories, and is based on researchconducted on What it Takes to Win at benchmark events in fencing.

Completing the Individual Performance Plan (IPP) is crucial for an athlete's success as it encompasses all essential aspects of their training and development. By integrating technical training, strength and conditioning, mindset coaching, and nutrition planning into a unified plan, athletes can optimise their performance and achieve their full potential.

The technical aspects of the plan focus on skill development and performance standards, while the strength and conditioning component ensures that the athlete's physical capabilities are honed to support their technical skills. Furthermore, the mindset coaching helps athletes develop the mental resilience and focus needed to excel in high-pressure situations, and the nutrition planning ensures that athletes fuel their bodies optimally for training and competition. Combining all these elements into a cohesive plan provides a holistic approach to athlete development, setting the foundation for sustained success.
