The Bertha Artivism Awards are an opportunity for activist artists, arts collectives and organizations to use the arts as a Call to Action – to instigate measurable change in a community.
Successful applicants will receive up to USD 20,000 (including up to USD 1,000 for documentation), for projects that go beyond raising awareness to empower and mobilize communities in collaboration with social justice organizations, campaigns, or movements to achieve specific and measurable change.
The Application Process
Please complete the application form below and submit by 23.59 (British Summer Time) on 21 September 2025. Late applications will not be accepted.
For clarity all the questions have been placed on a single page with word limits indicated where relevant. There is a button a the bottom of the page to save your progress, but as this is an online form, we advise you to also copy and paste your responses into a separate document in case you experience any connection issues.

Once you have submitted your application you will receive a copy of your answers via email. Please save a copy of this for your records.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in early November, with final selections confirmed by 1 December 2025. A public announcement of the selected cohort of Artivists will be made in January 2026.
