    •  Participant Requirements 

      • Must present an active food handler’s permit on the day of the event. 
      • Must provide verification of age at the time of competition.
      • All participants must be 18 years of age or older. 

      Contest Structure, Rules & Entry 

      • Accepting only six participants per category. 
      • The competition time frame from start to finish will only be 30 minutes per category.
      • First place winners from each of the five categories will advance to the final Championship Round. Championship Round will only award one winner.
      • Pre-registration is required via the QR code on the flyer.
      • Each participant is only allowed to enter one category (Categories 1-5).
      • Each participant must have an active food handler’s permit and provide age verification on the day of the competition.
      • All participants are required to wash their hands prior to the start time. Each participant will need to wear a hairnet and an apron which will be at time check-in.
      • No children under eighteen allowed within the Frybread competition vicinity,At time of check-in, each participant’s age using DL or valid State ID and Food Handler’s Permit will be verified. A liability waiver will be signed, and each participant will receive their contestant tag, hairnet, and an apron.
      • To avoid conflict of interest and provide a fair contest, a Judge will need to remove themselves if they are personally acquainted to any contestants.
      • A Health Inspector from Navajo Nation Division of Health will be present for the entire competition (Verified with DOH).
      • The Navajo Nation Fire Department will be on site for the entire competition.

      Prizes 

      Competition Category 1-5 

      • First Place – Sheepherder Basket & Cash Prize of $200.00 
      • Second Place – Sheepherder Basket & Cash Prize of $150.00 
      • Third Place – Sheepherder Basket & Cash Prize of $100.00 

       Championship Competition Category 6 

      • First Place – Outdoor Grill 

       All participants will be allowed to keep the apron they utilized during the competition as a souvenir donated by Blue Naadaa' Sweets.  

    • Sportsmanship Consent

      I/We

      • Agree that I will participate in the 2025 Navajo Nation Frybread Contest and display good sportsmanship.

      • Have read and understood the application form, agree to the rules, and will follow all requirements.

      • Know that breaking contest rules may lead to losing points or disqualification.

      • Will show good sportsmanship to other contestants, their families, friends, event coordinators, judges, and volunteers.

      • Will accept the judges' decisions and congratulate other contestants after the contest.

    • I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished version(s), including any written copy that may be created in connection with the video production, editing, and promotion.

      I give permission for  my name, photo, video, voice, and any personal information to be used in connection with the 77th Annual Navajo Nation Fair and Blue Naadaa' Sweets, LLC."
       
      I understand that I am giving up any rights to privacy or payment connected to the use of this information.
       
      I allow the Navajo Nation Fair Office and its representatives to use my and my child’s names and personal information in any way they choose for advertising or other legal purposes.
       
      I also give up the right to review or approve the final versions of any videos or materials created.
