Thank you for your interest in joining Envisioning Our Liberation: Youth Forums for Advocacy, Kinship, & Storytelling. StoryArk’s Youth Executive Board and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Program will host three youth-centered forums throughout the academic year, uniting high school students, collegiate student organizations, and leaders from the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Program to build relationships, share stories, and promote social justice advocacy. Through workshops and discussions, participants will address critical social issues, navigate challenging experiences, and amplify their voices to inspire change through the arts. This project fosters a lasting network of youth leaders committed to collective action and social impact.
Additional Details
- Dinner is provided at all forums.
- You will engage in various storytelling strategies for advocacy, including strategic storytelling, creative writing, podcasting, and/or visual arts.
- You will receive a $50 stipend for each workshop attended.
- These forums will result in an end-of-the-year exhibition that celebrates what you learned and created throughout the year.
Eligibility and Expectations
- Attend ALL youth forums hosted at the Liberal Arts Engagement Hub from 4-7pm on October 27th, January 26th, April 20th, and May 11th.
- Between the ages of 13-24.
- Interested in social justice, the arts, and creating positive change!
Applicants must be applying and representing a youth/student program or organization, and each organization will complete ONE application (except individuals from the MLK Jr. Program). Please have representatives who are interested in joining complete this form by Monday, September 15th, 2025.
