PETITION AGAINST TRUMP'S TEXAS TAKEOVER:
“I join with Allison Mitchell and Texas Democrats to oppose the Texas GOP's illegal and antidemocratic redistricting of congressional districts. Abbott has called a special session to enable a power grab that serves no purpose other than to insulate President Trump and his compliant DC Republicans from accountability for their broken promises and failed leadership. Abbott’s goal is to gerrymander racial coalition districts — where the voices of Black, Hispanic, Anglo and other ethnic groups speak together in opposition to Trump’s authoritarian rule and reckless policies. I call on ALL state leaders — Democratic and Republican — to oppose this flagrant assault on the integrity of our electoral system.”
