    This endowment is intended to benefit women who are rebuilding their lives. The ideal recipient should desire to improve herself through the acquisition of skills or academic pursuits which lead to self reliant living.

    Applications will be accepted from all United States. A nominee may be a current or former CWJC participant from a certified site.

    WMU directors, CWJC site coordinators, staff, and others personally acquainted with a nominee that is a potential grant recipient may submit a completed application. The WMU Foundation Board of Trustees shall determine the recipient, based on recommendation from the Christian Women's Job Corps/Christian Men's Job Corps National Advisory Council.

    This endowment provides a cash disbursement to the recipient as well as a cash disbursement to the nomination site to be used to further the ministry of the site.

    The originator is responsible for:

    • securing endorsements from the site coordinator and mentor
    • a testimony describing her CWJC experience and/or her faith journey
    • a copy of the site's national certification certificate
    • a signed Sybil Bentley Dove Endowment Covenant
  • Process

    • The CWJC/CMJC site selects one person as a nominee and completes the application packet.
    • All completed application packets will be forwarded to the State CWJC/CMJC Contact person.
    • The State CWJC/CMJC contact person will review all submissions and select one nominee to represent the state.
    • One nominee from each state will be forwarded to the CWJC/CMJC National Advisory Group for consideration.
    • The CWJC/CMJC National Advisory Group makes a recommendation to the Awards and Nominations Committee of the WMU Foundation for the top recipients.
    • Final decisions are made by the WMU Foundation Board

     

    The originator is responsible for securing and submitting:

    • Endorsements from the site coordinator and mentor
    • The testimony of the nominee describing her CWJC experience and/or her faith journey
    • A copy of the site's national certification certificate
    • A signed Scholarship Covenant

    When the Sybil Bentley Dove Award is awarded, the National WMU CWJC/CMJC office and the WMU Foundation agrees to do the following:

    • Grant the award monies to the CWJC Site and the site will disperse the award to the participant.
    • Give visibility to the recipient through the press releases, social media, and print articles.
    • Notify the state WMU office if a nominee from their state is selected as the Sybil Bentley Dove Award recipient.
