NSCA Code of Conduct
PURPOSE
New Springs Christian Academy (NSCA) exists to partner with families in raising students who love God, love others, and pursue excellence. This Code of Conduct summarizes the standards of respect, honor, and personal responsibility that every student is expected to practice, and that every parent/guardian agrees to reinforce at home. By signing below, you acknowledge that violations of this Code will invoke the NSCA Disciplinary Action Policy procedures.
1. MUTUAL COMMITTMENT
As a school–family partnership we commit to:
• Uphold the truths of Scripture in word and deed.
• Foster a safe, orderly, Christ-honoring learning environment.
• Address misconduct swiftly, prayerfully, and in accordance with Matthew 18.
2. STUDENT RESPONSIBILTIES
Every NSCA student agrees to:
1. Be Respectful
Speak and act with kindness toward classmates, teachers, staff, and visitors.
2. Honor Authority
Obey teachers and staff promptly without argument or disrespect.
3. Demonstrate Integrity
Refrain from cheating, lying, swearing, or stealing.
4. Protect Property
Care for school facilities, supplies, and the belongings of others.
5. Engage in Learning
Arrive prepared, complete assignments, and refrain from disruptive behavior.
6. Use Technology Wisely
Follow school guidelines for computers, Internet, and personal devices.
7. Resolve Conflict Biblically
Seek reconciliation one-to-one; involve authority only as needed (Matthew 18).
8. Reject Harmful Substances & Materials
Firearms, weapons, vaping devices, drugs, alcohol, and pornography are strictly prohibited on campus and at school events (Zero-Tolerance).
3. PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONIBILITIES
Parents and guardians commit to:
1. Model Christ-like Character and Honor Towards Authority
Exhibit respect toward teachers, staff, students, and other families. Parents agree to refrain from arguing, verbally attacking or harassing school staff in defense of their children’s behavior. Parents agree to take ownership of their children’s behavior while at school and to assist classroom teachers in the redirection of their child’s focus to the school Code of Conduct while on school grounds in order to maintain a cohesive and productive learning environment for all students. Parents agree to model and teach Christ-like conflict resolution at home in accordance with Matthew 18.
2. Encourage a Positive Attitude Toward Learning
Support homework routines and celebrate effort. Reward positive classroom behavior and reinforce a servant’s heart attitude.
3. Support NSCA Discipline Policy
Partner with teachers and the Administrator when correction is necessary, following the steps outlined in the Disciplinary Action Policy. Parents agree to follow and enforce the consensus of an equitable solution attained by a joint meeting between the parents and the classroom teacher in accordance with guidance from the School Administrator.
4. Maintain Open Communication
Bring questions or concerns directly to the appropriate person in a spirit of unity, respect and confidentiality.
5. Nurture Spiritual Growth at Home
Engage regularly in Scripture reading, prayer, selfless service and local-church worship.
6. Promote Humility
Guide children to share classroom items or experiences that highlight God’s creation rather than material status.
