Troubadour Theatres are welcoming public comments with regards to a proposed world-class Theatre Complex, with supporting facilities, at Greenwich Peninsula adjacent to the London cable cars.

The theatre complex would be located in the Lower Riverside district at Greenwich Peninsula, a thriving neighbourhood and mixed-use development in south-east London.

A phased approach is being taken to deliver the 30+ year Greenwich Peninsula masterplan, with Plot 20.01 in Lower Riverside not scheduled for development until later in the build programme. As such, Troubadour Theatres intend to occupy the site as a ‘meanwhile use’ for a period of 10 years until it is ready to come forward for development in the future.

The proposals represent a unique opportunity to deliver two new high-quality theatre spaces, each supporting a capacity of 1,500 spectators, that will add to the entertainment offering at Greenwich Peninsula and deliver a significant number of job opportunities for local residents. It will also provide new public facilities, including dining and socialising areas for visitors, residents and local businesses.

Following this consultation, the intention is to submit a planning application to establish consent for the proposed mixed-use theatre venue for a 10-year time period.

We would welcome any comments you have on the scheme by midnight on 24.09.2025.
