  • Thank you for your interest in participating in the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend’s 2026 Charity Program.

    This program assists charitable organizations’ fundraising efforts by providing guaranteed race entries to one of the nation’s top 10 and most anticipated races.

    Approved charities must secure runners through their organization’s marketing efforts to reach individuals or teams interested in running in support of their cause.

    This program assists charitable organizations’ fundraising efforts by providing guaranteed race entries to one of the nation’s top 10 and most anticipated races.

    Approved charities must secure runners through their organization’s marketing efforts to reach individuals or teams interested in running in support of their cause.

    This is step 2 of the application process - approved charities will be notified by March 14.

    Prospective charities must fit into one or more of the Philadelphia Weekend Marathon’s core initiatives:

    Categories include:

    • Health Research
    • Children/Youth
    • Education/Advocacy
    • Disabilities/Special Needs
    • Supportive/Emergency Services
    • Emergency Services/Housing/Anti-Poverty
    • Healthy Lifestyles
    • Diversity Equity and Inclusion

    Charities must renew annually and are subject to review and approval. Organizations must:

    • Be registered in the United States.
    • Possess a valid 501(c)(3) (Applications without this documentation will not be reviewed).
    • Commit to a minimum of 10 registrations (bibs) for fundraising purposes.
    • Commit to meet minimum $500 per bib fundraising goal set by the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend.
    • Returning charities, must show proof fundraising goals were met from previous year’s race.

    Charity Affiliate Benefits:

    • Logo posted on charity program page on the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend’s website with description and link to your organization. Note: Due to our partnership with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), we cannot accept new cancer related charities or list existing cancer related charities.
    • Opportunity to include Philadelphia Marathon Weekend logo in approved press releases and advertisements.

    Sample pricing: (go to screen 3 for additional information): 

    Bibs are now prepaid. You will receive an invoice and a contract if accepted into the program. No refunds will be provided for bibs that are unassigned or if fundraising individuals do not meet their goals.

    • AACR Philadelphia Marathon (full marathon) - $175/bib
    • Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon - $140/bib
    • Rothman Orthopaedics 8K - $55/bib

    Timeline:

    • February 7 - Application for consideration into the 2025 charity program begins. Submission does not imply acceptance into the 2025 program.
    • February 28 – Application for consideration ends.
    • March 14 – Charities will be notified of their acceptance into the 2025 program. Approved charities will receive an invoice and a contract that will need to be signed and returned.
    • September 1 – Tent rental (heated) due
    • October 1 – Tent rental (unheated) due
    • October 1 – Expo space rental due
    • October 31 – Fundraiser registration information will be sent to Philadelphia Marathon Weekend for bulk uploading on our registration platform.

    New this year: 

    • Bibs will be prepaid. If accepted into the program, participating charities will be invoiced for the quantity of bibs that they have requested in their application.
    • Bibs slots and instructions will be provided to charities upon receipt of payment. 
    • All charity participant registration information will be sent to event organizers by October 31 for bulk uploading into the race registration platform.
    • Charities will need to obtain an e-signed race waiver from each participant (participants who do not sign the race waiver will not be accepted). Details will be provided.

    Notes:

    1) Your fundraisers will use your fundraising platform; once they've met your goal and sign the waiver, you will then add their information for bulk uploading on October 31.

    2) Charities can request (and be invoiced) additional bibs, subject to availability.

    If the 2025 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend sells out, event organizers retain the right to restrict any additional bib requests over and above your original application. There is no guarantee that the 2025 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend will sell out.

  • Please read these instructions in their entirety before submitting your application online.

    Incorrectly submitted documentation or failure to submit entire application may delay your organization’s application review.

  • Gold Level Charity (very limited availability - please reach out to charities@philadelphiamarathon.com to discuss)

    A minimum of the following entries is required at each level:

    Marathon: 40 entries
    Half Marathon: 40 entries
    8K: 20 entries

    Charities will be invoiced for program fee and all entries upon acceptance into the program.

    Entry Fees: $180 Marathon, $160 Half-Marathon, $65 - 8K

    Benefits:

    • Prominent listing on PMW charity page within the Gold Level charities. To include charity logo, description, and links
    • 10x10 booth at PMW expo (option to upgrade. A COI will be required)
    • 10x20 heated charity tent in charity village (option to upgrade. A COI will be required)
    • Charity mention within expo and race day announcements
    • One (1) dedicated social media post (Facebook, Instagram) promoting their charity or a charity runner
    • Branding on course (1 track-board or signage)
    • Cheer zone location on event map (app) or included within a "Charity Mile"
    • Opportunity for to work with media team for human interest features
    • Commit to a minimum $500 fundraising goal for each bib requested.
    • All Gold level charity participants registration information will be due by October 26, 2026.

     

    Silver Level Charities

    Program Fee: $5,000

    A minimum of the following entries is required at each level:

    Marathon: 20 entries
    Half Marathon: 20 entries
    8K: 10 entries

    Charities will be invoiced for program fee and all entries upon acceptance into the program.

    Entry Fees: $180 Marathon, $160 Half-Marathon, $65 - 8K

    Benefits:

    • Prominent listing on PMW charity page within the silver level section (rotating within level). This will include the logo, brief description, and links
    • 10x10 booth at PMW expo (option to upgrade. A COI will be required)
    • Option to purchase charity tent in charity village (A COI will be required)
    • Cheer zone location on event map (app) or "Charity Mile"
    • Inclusion in multi-charity social media posts and emails linking to PMW Charity Page
    • Opportunity to work with media team on human interest stories multi-charity social media posts and e-mails about the charity program, linking to the PMW Charity Page
    • Commit to a minimum $500 fundraising goal for each bib requested
    • All Silver level charity participants registration information will be due by October 19, 2026.

     

    Bronze Level Charities

    Program Fee: $500

    A minimum of the following entries is required at each level:

    Marathon: 5 entries
    Half Marathon: 5 entries
    8K: 5 entries

    Charities will be invoiced for program fee and all entries upon acceptance into the program.

    Entry Fees: $180 Marathon, $160 Half-Marathon, $65 - 8K

    Benefits:

    • Listing on PMW charity page within the Bronze level section (rotating within level) with name, logo, and links
    • Option to purchase discounted expo booth (A COI will be required)
    • Option to purchase a Charity Village tent (A COI will be required)
    • Inclusion in multi-charity social media posts and emails
    • Commit to a minimum $500 fundraising goal for each bib requested
    • All Bronze level charity participants registration information will be due by October 12, 2026.

    No refunds will be provided for bibs that are unassigned or if fundraising individuals do not meet their goals.

    Tent and expo options will be available later this year and will be invoiced separately.

    Tent placement in oval at race director's discretion. No outside tents allowed.

    Hot beverages may be purchased for an additional cost based on number of participants. Please contact charities@philadelphiamarathon.com if interested.

  • If accepted into the 2025 program, Charities agree to the following: 

    • If accepted, charities will receive an invoice. Bibs must be prepaid in order to be used.

    • All charity participants registration information will be sent to event organizers by October 31 for bulk uploading.

    • Charities will need to obtain e-signed race waiver from each participant (participants who do not sign the race waiver will not be accepted).

    • Provide a Certificate of Insurance for any on-site activation (expo and/or start/finish line presence)
    • Start/Finish Line tent rental is due September 1, 2025 if you are ordering heat.

    • Start/Finish Line tent rental will be due October 1, 2025 (no heat). 

    • Expo space rental will be due October 1, 2025.

    • Commit to a minimum $500 fundraising goal for each bib requested.

    • Use your organization’s resources to promote your affiliation with the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend.

    • Submit for approval any related press releases or promotional material three business days prior to release.

    • Complete and return the post-race survey and report total amount of funds raised by December 15, 2025.

    Additionally, your organization agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the City of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia City Fund, Inc., the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the American Association for Cancer Research, Dietz & Watson, Rothman Orthopedics, Race Roster and any other person(s) or entity who now is or ever was an employee, officer or agent of the identified parties above from and against any loss, cost, liability or expense arising out of the conduct of or participation in the 2025 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend and related events. 

    Charites will be notified of their acceptance or rejection by March 14.

    I am officially submitting this application on behalf of the above referenced organization.  I acknowledge that I am an authorized official representing the organization.

    Note that signing below does NOT indicate acceptence into the 2025 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend program.

    If accepted, you will receive an invoice and a formal contract.
