CRITERIA FOR A

GRANT EXTENSION

The following criteria must be met in order for MEA to consider a grant extension request:

This form is only for requesting additional time to complete your project; requests to change the scope of work require a Grant Amendment.

An extension request cannot be submitted after a grant deadline has lapsed. No exceptions;
Project timeline must experience a delay;

Delay must be caused by circumstances outside of the Grantee's control; OR Grantee must demonstrate "good cause shown," i.e., demonstrate that the extension request is justified and necessary for the successful completion of the project;

Grantee must be able to enter into a formal amendment to the grant agreement to extend the deadline(s); and

The new grant deadline will only be extended to the end of the calendar year of the request.

The MEA Residential Energy Equity Program Manager(s) have full discretion to determine whether or not the reasons for the extension are acceptable. If you are unsure the reasons for submitting a grant extension request meet the criteria above, contact the team by emailing ResidentialEnergy.MEA@Maryland.gov.
