- Different rhythms such as the 8th note, 16th note, and introducing syncopation
- Closed position Two Octaves for major scales
If your student has not joined us for a group guitar class before but you think they may be eligible for Group Guitar 102 instead of Group Guitar for Absolute Beginners, here are the required prerequisites for this class:
- The student should know the names of the open strings, what frets are, and how to fret a note.
- The student should know how to sit with the guitar and be able to play and understand the basics of open chords (often referred to as CAGED chords).
- The student should understand quarter, half, and whole note rhythms and rests, and be able to play single notes (either as part of a melody, riff, or scale).
- The student should be able to pick individual notes with either their thumb or a pick.
