Call for Candidates - 2026 Grand Council Elections
  • Serving on the Grand Council requires a significant investment of both time and money.

In accordance with Bylaw 7, Section 1, grand officers commit to regularly attending Grand Council meetings with no more than 10% unexcused absences. In recent years, the Grand Council has held virtual meetings on a monthly basis, although it is not uncommon for the board to meet more than once per month.

Additionally, grand officers are expected to attend in-person Fraternity events, which may require out-of-town and overnight travel, including:

    • Grand Council retreats and in-person meetings
    • National and regional leadership programs
    • Industry conferences
    • Biennial Convocation
    • Chapter installations and visitations
    • Other travel as necessary

In many cases, grand officers personally cover the cost of their travel expenses (such as airfare, hotel, non-event-provided meals, tolls, rental cars, ground transportation, personal car mileage, fuel, and airport parking).

Notice to Current and Past Grand Officers Filing to Run in the Upcoming Grand Council Elections:
By filing as a candidate for the 2026–28 Grand Council, you are advised that the election materials distributed to registered Convocation attendees will indicate whether you fulfilled (or failed to fulfill) all of your voluntary pledge commitments for the current biennium and/or each previous biennium for which you served, as set forth in the Grand Council Governance and Policy Manual or equivalent document in effect at the time of your service, if any.

  • CONFLICT OF INTEREST STATEMENT

A conflict of interest exists when a grand officer's personal interests, relationships, or loyalties have the potential to compromise their professional judgment or objectivity when making decisions as a member of the Grand Council. This situation can arise when serving one interest might negatively impact another, such as a personal financial gain clashing with a duty to act in the best interests of the Fraternity, or service on another board within the organization that is subject to oversight by the Grand Council.

In accordance with Bylaw 6, Section 1 (c) (iv), upload a statement attesting that service as a member of the Grand Council will not create a personal conflict of interest, financial or otherwise. Such attestation will again be requested at Convocation to ensure that no conflict has arisen between the time of this candidate filing and the election.
