Welcome to the application for The Ceramics Edit at The Other Art Fair Brisbane | Meanjin. 

We are really fired up to announce The Ceramics Edit; a special initiative that will form a major part of our Fair Program at The Other Art Fair Brisbane | Meanjin taking place this November 6 - 9, at Brisbane Showgrounds Exhibition Building.

The Other Art Fair has for a long time been the ideal launchpad for artists to build their career, grow their following and sell their art and at this edition we want to put the incredible work of Australian ceramicists in the spotlight, and highlight the exceptional talent on offer in this important and burgeoning part of the Brisbane Art market.

The Ceramics Edit will be a destination in the Fair for art buyers to discover an exclusive line-up of 20 hand-picked creators offering a diverse array of the best in ceramic art. For ceramics to take it's deserved place in this auspicious art fair, our focus will be on artists demonstrating their prowess in the ceramic field that truly prioritises form over function.

Note: Are you making 3D work in another medium?  The team is open to honouring the 'Ceramics Edit' package for artists making sculptural work in other mediums.  Get in contact via maya@theotherartfair.com to see if you are eligible.

Application & Exhibition Space Information

Please consider the following before beginning your application:

• Each application is reviewed by the Fair team, who carefully consider submitted materials.
• The application deadline is Aug 29, 2025.  All applicants will be notified on a rolling basis through Aug-Sept 2025.  This means if you apply early, you can be accepted before applications close!
• Applications must be completed in one sitting, so we highly recommend making sure you start the application when you can take the time to complete it in full.
• Prepare to upload image files of four (4) artworks that are indicative of the type of work you wish to exhibit at the Fair, please keep in mind works showcasing a similar in style, medium, price, and size. Files will need to be .jpg and under 5MB.
• Prepare to upload two (2) images of past booths at other fairs, events or artist marketplaces.  Files will need to be .jpg and under 5MB.
• Questions marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. 
• All successful applicants must commit to attending the fair in person to represent their own work (Novemeber 6 - 9 2025). A deposit is required to confirm participation, and 100% of booth fees are due in advance of the fair.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This application is for The Ceramics Edit at The Other Art Fair. If you are wishing to apply to our General Artist Application or New Futures program you will need to submit through a different application - more details can be found at https://theotherartfair.com/artist-apply/.

If successful, you will be contacted with an offer to exhibit. Your Fair Package will include:

• A space at The Other Art Fair Brisbane | Meanjin taking place at Brisbane Showgrounds Exhibition Building, November 6 - 9 (4 day event).
• An allocation of tickets to invite your network and followers to attend the fair (worth over $2,000).
• Preparatory materials to assist you in making the most of your investment, including dedicated workshops, an artist portal, weekly email updates, and more.
• Consideration for inclusion in pre- and post-Fair marketing campaigns through The Other Art Fair and Saatchi Art.
• Artist networking to help you connect with a global community of artists.

3m x 2m exhibition area + 3m back wall + 1 light + nameboard = $1,800+GST

30% OFF: Our standard entry level package to exhibit at the Fair is normally $2,570+GST. This package offers exceptional value to be part of The Other Art Fair at a much lower rate, 30% below the usual entry level price.

All art sales made onsite at the fair are processed through our central payment system. An 18%+GST commission applies to all art sales so the majority always goes back to you, the artist.

Criteria

The Ceramics Edit is set to form a major part of the Fair Program for The Other Art Fair and will be highlighted in our marketing and promotion. To be eligible for this section artists may only show decorative ceramic artworks. The Ceramics Edit will be a dedicated section of the Fair and this submission process is operating independently of our usual application process which can be found at www.theotherartfair.com/artists-apply/.

What we are looking for: Vessels, Vases, Bowls, Decorative Plates and Sculptures/Figurines, Conceptual Ceramic Art

What we are not looking for: Cookware, Dinnerware, Kitchen utensils, Drinkware (including mugs), Jewellery.
