Part 1: Administrative Regulations
1. Students must comply with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, the student regulations of Chiang Mai University, and the rules and regulations of the Chiang Mai University Language Institute (LICMU).
2. Course duration is 6 months.
3. Students enrolled in this course may request LICMU to provide the necessary documents to apply for a Non-Immigrant Education Visa (NON-ED) and visa extension services. However, these services are only provided to students who are fully registered, have paid tuition, and comply with the institute’s regulations.
4. Applicants for the IELTS course must have passed an English language test at B1 level or above, and must attach the test result during the application process.
Regulations that students must follow:
(a) Actively participate in class, submit assignments on time, and avoid absences, tardiness, or early departures.
(b) Continuous leave is not allowed. Being more than 15 minutes late is counted as one absence. The total number of absences and leave days must not exceed 10 days. Attendance will be checked weekly by LICMU staff. In case of absence, students must notify their instructor and the administrative office in advance. Unexcused consecutive absences will result in a warning. Further violations will lead to course expulsion, ineligibility for future courses, and visa cancellation within 15 days. For students on other types of visas, course enrollment will be revoked without refund.
(c) There are four language levels. To enroll in the next level, students must pass a placement test.
(d) Students must dress appropriately: no short, sheer, or revealing clothes. Tops must not be sleeveless or strapless, and bottoms must be below the knee. Slippers are not allowed.
(e) Students violating the above regulations will have their study privileges and visa support revoked.
(f) Students will initially receive a 90-day NON-ED visa. LICMU will later provide documents for the remaining 90-day extension. Students must apply for extension materials at LICMU one month in advance.
(g) Students needing visa extensions must contact the LICMU Office 114 one month before visa expiration with their passport. LICMU will prepare the necessary documents within 10 working days. Note: LICMU only provides visa extension and cancellation documents; students must go to Immigration themselves. LICMU is not responsible for missed deadlines.
(h) Thai law prohibits NON-ED visa holders from working or engaging in any form of employment, including unpaid volunteer work. Violations will result in fines from Thai Immigration and immediate visa cancellation by LICMU. Foreigners intending to work or volunteer must apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa and obtain a work permit.
(i) LICMU bears no responsibility and offers no refunds if a visa is canceled or invalidated due to student error or personal reasons.
Part 2: Course Arrangement
1. The course consists of 150 total hours, with 4 days per week, 2 hours per day.
2. Classes will be held Monday to Thursday, in the morning or afternoon. If class is canceled due to holidays, emergencies, or force majeure, LICMU will arrange makeup sessions. Course transfers to another person are not permitted.
3. LICMU will assign instructors. Students cannot choose their teacher.
4. LICMU reserves the right to:
a. Deny requests to change teachers.
b. Deny changes to curriculum, timetable, or schedule.
c. Disallow students from changing classes once registration is confirmed.
Part 3: Certificate Eligibility
This course is a skill enhancement training program; no certificate of completion or official documentation will be provided upon completion.
Part 4: Refund Policy
1. LICMU has a strict no-refund policy. Once full tuition is paid, it is considered agreement to start the course, and no refunds will be issued unless the course cannot commence on schedule due to the institute’s own reasons.
2. If a student is unable to obtain a NON-ED visa, they must notify LICMU at least 7 days before the course start date to request a refund. A deduction of 7,500 THB per program will be applied to the refund amount. Failure to notify LICMU within this timeframe will result in no refund being granted.
3. No refund will be given if the student withdraws after the course starts.
4. No refund will be given if the student does not attend after registration without notifying the international office. All refund requests are subject to approval by the LICMU Dean, whose decision is final.
Agreement Upon Registration
By enrolling, I agree that:
1. All tuition must be paid before the course begins. After the course starts, no refunds will be issued for any reason.

a. Disruptive behavior in class.
b. Threats to the safety of others.
c. Addiction to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or any illegal substances.
d. Violation of LICMU regulations.
e. Engaging in behavior harmful to the course environment.

4. Students must dress properly during class: no short, sheer, or revealing clothes; no sleeveless or strapless tops; skirts/pants must be below the knee; no slippers allowed. Instructors have the right to dismiss students from class for dress code violations. The teacher’s judgment is final.

8. I understand that the decision to grant a NON-ED visa is made solely by Thai Immigration, and LICMU is not responsible for any changes in Immigration rules or requirements. All students must understand and comply with Immigration regulations and any updates.
9. I am responsible for my own visa renewal process. I must go to Office 114 with my passport at least 1 month before visa expiry to obtain extension documents. I understand that failing to apply for a visa renewal within 28 days of expiry may result in overstay fines. LICMU is not responsible for fines due to late submission.
