Happy Days Volunteer

Happy Days is one of Ramsey’s biggest and most beloved community celebrations! It wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors and volunteers.

You're invited to join us in making this event the best it can be! Whether you would like to give an hour or spend the whole day with us, we have a role for you! Plus, volunteering a great way to meet new people, connect with your community, and give back in a fun, hands-on way.

As a thank-you, all volunteers will receive a Happy Days t-shirt, complimentary meal(s), and special recognition for their contributions.

5K and Youth Fun Run Volunteer Roles

• Set-up (1 volunteer needed)
  • Assist City Staff with placing out all race supplies.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by City Staff.
  • May involve lifting or moving tables.

• Registration (2 volunteers needed)
  • Work with Anderson Race Management to check in participants and distribute race materials (e.g., t-shirts).
  • Help City Staff transition from the 5K to the Youth Fun Run.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by City Staff.

• Clean-up (1 volunteer needed)
  • Assist City Staff with moving materials back into the Elmcrest Building.
  • Help transition from the 5K to the Youth Fun Run.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by City Staff.
  • May involve lifting or moving tables.

Expo Volunteer Roles

• Check-in (2 volunteers needed)
  
  • Welcome and check in vendors as they arrive.
  • Remind vendors of their assigned booth space and parking rules.

• Expo Float (1 volunteer needed)
  • Assist any vendors who arrive late and direct them to their booth space.
  • Remind vendors to move vehicles before road closures if they haven’t already done so.

• Take-down (1 volunteer needed)
  • Check in with vendors during event wrap-up.
  • Remind vendors of take-down procedures and assist as needed.

Parade Volunteer Roles

• Check-in (2 volunteers needed)
  • Assist City Staff with checking in parade participants.
  • Help ensure entries are in their correct line-up positions.
• Parade Judge (3 volunteers needed)
  
  • Evaluate parade floats using pre-set judging criteria.
  • Select winners for the 2025 Happy Days Parade.

Dog Show Volunteer Roles

• Float (2 volunteers needed)
  • Assist Armstrong Kennels with organizing event setup.
  • Help dog show entries get in line, ensuring proper spacing between participants.
• Judges (3 volunteers needed)
  • Evaluate dogs using pre-set judging criteria.
  • Select winners for multiple award categories.

Triva Volunteer - NEW EVENT!

• Float (2 volunteers needed)
  • Assist Trivia host by monitoring area for cheating as well as misc. tasks such as handing out papers and pens. 

Other Volunteer Roles

• Float
  • Wipe down tables and help with miscellaneous tasks throughout the event.
  • Assist with items as needed by the Event Coordinator.
  • May involve carrying light supplies to other vendors or stations. 
• Clean-up Crew 
  • Assist Public Works with post-event clean-up.
  • May involve lifting and walking around in low-light conditions.

As the event approaches, City Staff will be in touch with details about your arrival, parking, and expectations. Each station will have a packet with information and/or City Staff to help assist.
