Reclaiming Shabbat:
A Community of Practice
Exploring Shabbat Observance Through Liberal Jewish Eyes
Once a month
Fridays at 1:30pm ET / 10:30 am PT
October through June

What does it mean to observe the Sabbath in a modern, meaningful way? In our fast-paced, always-connected world, we need Shabbat more than ever. This ancient Jewish practice offers a powerful antidote: rest, presence, and renewal. Together, we’ll explore what Shabbat can look like today—for liberal Jews seeking depth, intention, and connection in their weekly rhythm.
This Community of Practice is just what it sounds like: a group of thoughtful, curious individuals coming together to explore and deepen their relationship with Shabbat—and to support one another along the way.
First session is Friday, October 10, 2025. After that we'll meet one Friday per month through June, at 1:30 pm Eastern.
Each one-hour meeting may consist of some combination of the following:
- Study of a Jewish text related to Shabbat.
- Journaling and personal reflection on Shabbat practices and their meaning.
- Discussion and "workshopping" on questions and issues related to our own Shabbat observance.
The Community of Practice is a covenental community of people who are supporting each other in deepening our Jewish connection and our wellness. We ask that participants keep their cameras on for the hour.
Come prepared to learn, connect, and grow!
