Seeing Yourself in the Sacred Story
A Creative Midrash Community

Midrash is the art of bringing our own voices to the text, reimagining sacred stories to reflect the questions and challenges of our time. It is one of the oldest - and also the newest - Jewish acts.
This Community of Practice will meet monthly to explore and create midrash. We’ll read stories from the Bible through the lens of creative interpretation, and ask how the sacred story can hold up a mirror for us to see ourselves, or offer a window into someone else’s experience. Each session will include a writing prompt and time to create and share our own original midrash.
- First session is Tuesday, October 21 at Noon ET (9am PT).
- After that we'll meet one Tuesday a month through June.
- One hour per session.
This is a covenental community of people who are supporting each other in deepening our Jewish connection and our wellness. We ask that participants keep their cameras on for the hour.
