    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Head of Graphics / Graphics Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be 1- operating various graphics and score bug systems, 2- responsible for preparing new graphics packages, and 3- training and mentoring operators on all aspects of live event graphics operations, ensuring seamless transmission and high-quality output for live events. You will work with state-of-the-art broadcast equipment and software, in real-time to ensure every broadcast goes smoothly.

     

    General Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Serve as lead operator for Vizrt and Chyron graphics systems for live events, TVG bug setup, and creating and modifying graphics packages based on client deliverables and requests.
    • Train and mentor new graphics operators on graphics packages, Vizrt systems, TVG systems, and other functions related to game and event graphics operations.
    • Collaborate with clients to produce brand-centered insert graphics for live events and inform other operators of the updates.
    • Provide graphic and Vizrt support to Show Producers and the Production Operations department as needed.
    • Work with Engineering staff to troubleshoot the Vizrt systems if necessary and perform system checks before live events to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
    • Ensuring accuracy and quality verifying the correctness of graphics and ensuring smooth transitions and seamless integration into the live broadcast.
    • Provide proactive and effective communication with excellent problem-solving skills in support of the graphics department and production operations.
    • Ongoing Training and administrative calls related to graphics operations, broadcast procedures and Vizrt, Chyron software developments.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in a live control room or remote event environment, preferably with live sports or other unscripted programming, is required. Minimum of 5+ years practical TV Production or related experience at a broadcast market level, digital/streaming platform or comparable professional broadcast level is required.
    • Expert knowledge of Vizrt and Chyron systems, specifically Viz Trio required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed, especially spelling and grammar. Knowledge of other broadcast graphics systems such as Chyron, Vizrt, or Ross Xpression is a valuable asset.
    • A strong understanding of broadcast technology, video editing, and live sports production is essential. A demonstrated ability to work proactively, efficiently, even in a high-pressure, live-production environment is required.
    • The ability to make quick and accurate decisions under pressure, particularly during crucial plays, is vital.
    • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to effectively work with the production team are essential.
    • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as live events often take place outside of traditional business hours.
    • Proficiency with Google applications, including Google Sheets, Docs, Slides and Forms.

    Preferred Skills:

    • A deep understanding of various professional and collegiate sports, including storylines, key players, games, strategies, and rules, is a valuable asset.
    • Familiarity with control room environments and technical operations for sports, concerts, or live shows.
    • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for live broadcast quality.

    Salary Range:

    $70K and up
