We are so excited to have you with us as a DREAM Lunch Mentor!
  • Studies have shown that intentional mentoring time can lead to growth in both character development and leadership skills. For this reason, the DREAM Lunch Mentor Program will pair a scholar with you to meet during their lunch period over hte course of 12 sessions. As DREAM Mentors, we ask that you provide a meaningful experience in leadership and character development, and we are also passionate about your scholar's safety. Your DREAM Alive scholar will be assigned and communicated to you after the first or second mentoring session, once you've had a chance to meet and connect with all the participating scholars. DREAM Alive staff should be a resource to you if you need anything throughout this mentoring process. Below is their contact info:

    Stephen Smith | ssmith@dreamaliveinc.org | VP of Programs | 317-778-7734

    Keon Dowdell | kdowdell@dreamaliveinc.org | H.S. Director | 219-448-9012

    Jill Patrick | jill@dreamaliveinc.org | Volunteer Engagement Director | 614-715-0170

YOUR COMMITMENT: I agree to participate in the DREAM Alive Lunch Mentor Program. I will stay in consistent communication with the DREAM Alive Staff and my scholar throughout the program. I have received the training information, and I am aware and will follow all of DREAM Alive conduct procedures and guidelines.

  • Self Disclosure Agreement

I am required to self-disclose any criminal convictions within three business days of the conviction. I will maintain a healthy mentor relationship: I will report any suspicion of misconduct: child abuse (physical, verbal, emotional), sexual abuse, or neglect. I will not engage in any of the forms of misconduct listed above.
  • 1. I commit to mentoring a DREAM Alive scholar and meeting with them for 11-12 mentoring sessions throughout the school year.

  • 2. I will reach out to my scholar consistently and understand that I might have to put more initiation in than my scholar at times.

For multiple reasons, our scholars sometimes don't respond well. We do everything to help you establish a connection through events. These are some of the easiest ways to connect with your scholar so putting in the effort at the beginning will establish a good base for your mentoring relationship.
  • 3. I will reach out to the volunteer director and high school director if I should have any issues.

Please reach out to the High School Director (above) if you are having issues with your scholar.
  • 4. I will report my volunteers hours at least monthly to ensure that DREAM Alive is able to track the amount of mentoring hours our scholars are receiving.

Please submit your volunteer hours so that we are aware of how things are going with you and your scholar and how many mentoring hours they are receiving.
